To begin with, the food was good. The chicken was tasty. LOVE that this is available as a healthy alternative on CDA's main street/hub for fast food. Thank goodness!!!!
The inside was a bit confusing. There is no menu on the wall, so I felt like a zombie the second I walked in. Are we fast food? Are we sit down? Are we... whatever this is? I even asked if they had just opened and she said they had been there for several months. So the lack of menu signage is not due to its newness.
We soon found there were laminated menus on the counter but even that is confusing: are we stuck with the few bowls on the menu or can we create our own? (If management sees this - I highly recommend letting us build our own bowl, with carb/protein/topping guidance).
The girls that worked there were kind, and said that we could make our own bowls, but it was a confusing situation that involved the service rep essentially creating an order for the bowl closest to what each of us wanted, but then adding and subtracting items from it. In my case, I was upcharged $2 because I wanted cucumber tomato salad instead of salad dressing and rice, which I was not alerted to until I swiped my credit card. Honestly, for $17 for LUNCH, it wasn't worth it. I prefer Chipotle, where I can build my own bowl and know what I'm paying for in upcharges.
I also am very irked that there is ZERO option for a cup of water. I just paid $17 and you can't give me a cup of water? NO CUPS ALLOWED. Instead, I paid an additional $2 for a small bottle of off-brand water that wholesales for maybe 30 cents. My friend didn't even buy a drink because she was so annoyed.
We sat inside and the atmosphere is fine, however, our table had not been wiped down in quite some time. The food was fine, no criticisms there. Sadly not feeling that I'll return.
I would also love to educate the world that GLUTEN IS NOT THE SAME AS CARBOHYDRATES!! :P (This is not throwing shade at Konala, just funny because of the misconception out there that they are one...
Read moreIf you’re looking for clean, flavorful, truly gluten-free food that actually satisfies — this place is a gem. The protein bowls are packed with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and thoughtful combinations that don’t feel like “health food” they feel like real, nourishing meals.
I’ve been gluten-free for years, and it’s rare to find a spot that takes dietary restrictions seriously without sacrificing flavor or creativity. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and I loved being able to customize my bowl with high-quality proteins and veggies.
Bonus: their sauces are incredible (and yes, also gluten-free), and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about every ingredient.
Whether you’re gluten-free by necessity or just looking for a healthy spot that won’t leave you hungry an hour later , this place is a must-visit. I’ll...

You basically just choose the protein: Tri-tip, Poké, Teriyaki Chicken, Tofu, etc. Each of these protein options has their own appropriate toppings (example, Poké has Japanese garnish/topiings). Then, you choose whether you want rice, spring mix greens, or a hybrid of both for your “base” (their terminology).
That’s it! 2 steps!
It’s the perfect amount of customization for me… compared to a place like Chipotle where they ask you 10 different questions before you can get a darn burrito.
I hope these guys do well. Support this business!
Suggestion: I’d like to see ground beef as an option if they don’t already have it. It would bring the price point down and make this place a regular joint for me to eat without dinging my...
