We’ve been going here for years and years and they never disappoint. Probably the best authentic mexican restaurant in cda. The service is always excellent.. waitresses fill your drinks when you need it and are constantly checking on you to see if you need anything and i feel like that’s hard to find at most restaurants! Their chips and salsa is sooo good i will go in there and get a bag of chips and a big thing of salsa for home. Their food is absolutely amazing too. I personally love their nachos, tamales, and their birria tacos! I had the birria tacos today for the first time and i’ve been wanting to try them for so long but couldn’t find anywhere local that has them. They were absolutely amazing! Super flavorful and delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful! Oh gosh i’m gonna crave them on a weekly basis now. They only have them occasionally but i’m definitely going to get more when they have them again 💕

Ordered the Chile Colorado and the Beef Enchiladas. The Chile Colorada was very good. It was extremely hot and took a while to cool down. The peppers and onions we pretty big, but that was not a problem for me although it could have been on a different day. The rice and beans were very good. The tortillas were a bit stale, unfortunately. The enchiladas were amazing, had a homemade feel to them. They had a large amount of cheese, but this didn't affect them horirbly. Rice was just as they were at any other Mexican restaurant, and the beans were mighty hot. All around good food. Both of our portions were insanly big, definetly not cheaping out on value. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean and it had a great mexican vibe to it, with piñatas and sombreros for decor. The waiters also spoke spanish which is great for foreigners visiting from spanish speaking nations. We would recommend trying this.

Came here for dinner on a weekday night, many people inside! Saw weekly daily specials right upon entering, wish we were given menus with those daily specials (or written elsewhere). The menu is super long, lots of choices, most plates come with beans and rice. Staff is very friendly, we were given chips and a container of both hot salsa and mild salsa, both delicious. The chips were warm still when served, yum! We took a while to decide, and I asked what the most popular dishes are (tacos, and our server really likes the flautas). We got the enchiladas which was the Monday daily special, one beef and one chicken (I was being indecisive about which meat to get, asked our server and she said chicken, then said we could get one of each), and we got a plate with beef taco and chile relleno. We also asked for the rice and beans to be replaced with salad, and she offered us soup - so we went with one plate replaced with soup and the other with salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese - lettuce wasn't the freshest though). The food came out quickly and it was SO much food, all tasty but could've been more flavorful. The meats were flavorful but the sauces were just okay. I've never had chile relleno with egg batter before and I definitely prefer that over the normal bread batter. The chile relleno sauce was a bit mellow, but I put some of the hot salsa over it. We really liked the hot salsa and got three containers of it (and finished them all, yum)! We were also given chicken tortilla soup which was okay, not super flavorful, had lots of chicken and beans at the bottom. All this came out to be around $24 post-tax, amazing price for the portions, left so full. Service was super friendly too and...

As CDA locals we love coming into Las Chavelas! Their food is our favorite in town, but it's also the feeling we get when we go there. The staff recognize you and make you feel welcomed, which makes it so much more enjoyable to go sit and eat. HOWEVER, our love for Las Chavelas has now grown SOOO much more because we had them cater our wedding!

Tony & Vanessa were both so great during the entire planning process, by far the easiest to work with. On the day of, they outdid themselves. Tony & team set everything up & served the entire buffet. Our guests were so happy, raving all night about how good the tacos and food were.

Then!!! They also were willing to include bean and cheese burritos and crunchy chicken tacos for us to serve our guests late night. We had absolutely NO leftovers lol and people are still messaging me about how much they enjoyed the food.

We were already die hard Las Chavelas fans but now that is our spot for life. It will always remind us of our wedding day and I feel like Vanessa and Tony are friends now. We hope we see them often & cannot say enough great things about them, the restaurant or the service. 10/10 come here for dinner or for any catering - you will not be...

The food is great, but the owner and the service are TERRIBLE. We have been doing there for years and years probably 6 years. The service has never been the best but the last time we went the owner himself waited on us. We had taken with us a couple of friends that have never been there and boy are we sorry about going there. The owner refused to serve my friend ground beef tacos, he flat out told her to get up leave the restaurant, and go to taco bell if she wanted ground beef tacos. Our other friend who have leaved in Mexico for several years and knows the local food and beer asked for Mexican beer and the owner got really snappy and said that "Americans" did not know what the talked about when they asked for beer from Mexico and thought Corona was the best, my friend who is an attorney, and US Navy retired and speaks perfect Spanish disagreed with him and he argued with my friend for 10 minutes about beer. When the food came out he brought the food and slammed the plates in the table, and then 10 min later he came back to get them when we haven;t even finish. It was a very terrible experience since we love the food, but we were treated...
