I’ve had several good experiences at Paddy’s in the past, which is why this recent situation was so disappointing. During a visit, I opened a tab and gave my card to the server — something I’ve done many times before without issue. I had one beer and spent the afternoon playing darts. Unfortunately, my card was mistakenly charged for another table’s entire meal and then handed over to that customer, who walked out with it and used it at another business in town.
What really frustrated me is how easily this mistake happened. The server gave my card to someone who simply said, “It’s the red card.” That was all it took — no ID check, no name confirmation, nothing. Just a verbal guess, and my card was handed over.
Staff on-site tried to help by calling the business my card was used at, but we missed the person by just a few minutes. Since the charges had already gone through, I was told I’d need to work with my bank. While the restaurant did eventually close out the charges later that night on their system, I still had to cancel my card, file a fraud claim, and update all of my payment information. They gave me $40 cash from the register to cover the $42.32 incorrectly charged to my card, which I appreciated, but it doesn’t make up for the time, inconvenience, and stress.
The server who caused the issue was unprofessional and didn’t seem to take the situation seriously, which added to the frustration. Thankfully, another staff member stepped up and tried to help as best he could, even though the mistake wasn’t his.
The restaurant did call me the next day to apologize, and I genuinely appreciated that. However, unless I see for myself that their tab policy has changed or new safeguards are put in place, I won’t know if anything has truly been done to prevent this from happening again. And based on this experience, I’ll be hesitant to spend money here in the future — and, frankly, I’ll now be second-guessing handing my card over at any restaurant going forward.
Advice to future customers: If you open a tab, keep your card with you or pay as you go. Don’t assume your card is secure just because you’re in a familiar spot. One careless mistake can turn a laid-back afternoon into a major headache — even at a place you’ve...
Read moreSorry to say week three of the NFL season was a bust! Visiting from out if town and was looking for a local spot to enjoy some food, beer and Sunday football. We seated ourselves and Dominique was our server. We were told that there was an problem with the cooler and that there was no cold tap beer. OK, bottled beer is fine. Requested a beer with Clamato juice, was informed that they don’t serve that there, despite a empty bottle of Clamato juice sitting behind the bar. Hummmm? Our bottles of beer were not cold but had the coolness like it had just come off the garage floor. Marginally cold. We ordered food, chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. I was sharply ask what kind of sauce I want. Not knowing the sauce information was on the last page of the menu. She rattled off a couple of sauces and said she would get me the hot sauce, which it was! When served, we were given no plates and a single napkin each. Hummmm? Ever eat hot chicken wings and us only one napkin? With no napkin dispenser in site. Calling Chef Ramsey!!!! Sauce was just plain hot, with little flavor, mozzarella sticks were gross and I don’t use that word often. Maybe Paddy’s will post a response to this message and let us know how they cook/microwave them. Best of the best. While the sports bar appears to be smoke free. I noticed a few times the workers vaping up at the front register and talking without a care for customers and customer service. Luck of the Irish if you can get...
Read moreI gave them an extra star for having NHL Network which is hard to find places around here that have it. Beer selection was nice and the prices were a lot better than I expected. We only did apps this trip we had the boneless wings and the Irish tater tots. The tot portion was huge we got what we paid for, they were a little under cooked but I prefer mine more crispy. The boneless wings were a huge let down, they were clearly frozen boneless wings that were heated and tossed in sauce and the portion was not worth the $10. The place itself is cool they have a bunch of pool tables and darts boards and plenty of tvs. They even have a huge screen to play games on. We will be back to try more things and maybe I'll edit the rating. I over heard that they do serve breakfast on Sunday's from 9 to 11 but you may want to double...
