11.22.24: First time here and came to see a friend play some live music. He did a solo gig and his band is called Agape. Great chill vibing music. Now on to the pizza, we were greeted when walked in and as we sat, we were given menus. So from other reviews I've read about the service here, what I will say is yes, the son has a quirky demeanor and service. However, his intention is good and does not mean to come off as short or inattentive...it just adds to his mysterious character. Anyways, he seems like a good kid (young adult) and is part of just the family business.
Okay, on to the pizza for reals. The wixy nugs sounded very interesting and we tried the jalapeno cinna-sweet flavor. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect but had to order it out of curiosity. I'm glad I did! Some way, some how, the mix of spicy jalapeno coupled with cinnamon definitely works. Hard to describe, yet tasty.
For my pizza, I ordered the Flying Hawaiian. But instead of ham or chicken, I went with pepperoni. I really enjoyed this pizza and all the combo flavors that melded together. My friend ordered the BBQ smoked pulled pork pizza and said it was great. Visually there was lots of fresh cilantro but it did not over power the pizza in general. They give you bottled water and they have canned soda for beverages. They do not sell alcohol. One thing to take note of is they stay open late. They close at 2am! Late night munchies? This is the spot. Oh did I mention, this pizza shop has a skateboard shop in it with awesome artwork!? Definitely a unique place to check out and eat some good pizza!
Really enjoyed the mom and pop shop atmosphere, it's Mom making the pies and the son helping out. Dad's declining health allows him to come help at times. Support local small businesses, it's what really helps the...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to experience anything this place has to offer. My family and I are here visiting relatives and one of the teenagers in our group really wanted to check out the skate shop here. So we stopped in after dinner to look around and potentially buy a few things and upon entering the establishment the owner ripped into us for not having made reservations ahead of time. He continued on in a nasty tone about how it is a two man operation and explained that they were too busy to accommodate a party of our size. I would like to point out that the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. He then gestured to a pizza box near the door that has a message written in sharpie regarding party size and reservation requirements. It is important to note that this information is nowhere to be found online—it only exists on the pizza box near the door. It takes a lot to upset me but I really didn’t appreciate immediate condescension for trying to spend money at his place of business. We will absolutely not be back.
I can also say, having worked in customer service for almost 20 years, that is not how you treat your patrons. Perhaps asking us a few questions when we entered to see what we were looking for might have been a better place to start than immediately being combative based on assumptions. If you are looking for a great pizza place in town, try Fire. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing! Don’t waste your time or...
Read moreThe decision: My wife and I were looking for pizza options around 8:30pm. I personally don't like to go to a place when they're about to close, so we ended up coming here. I looked at some of the reviews and was ultimately blown away by this establishment's high rating on Google. Of course there are some negative comments and I read some but the positives outweighed the negatives.
Our experience: upon entering, we were not greeted. There was a rude young boy who told us to sit anywhere. This place is not your typical restaurant. It's more of a hangout place that so happens to serve pizza. There's skateboards everywhere, a drum set, and a pair of loud speakers. The boy came out with bottles of water (odd) and asked what we wanted. We ordered and then a lady came out and gave us some plates and napkins saying that our food was coming out soon. A few minutes later our food arrived.
The food: the pizza was very bland and tasteless. We got pepperoni and jalapeno on their regular red sauce. There really wasn't much taste other than the jalapeno honestly. It was quite a letdown.
The aftermath: We quickly left after paying (the boy asked whose card it was and then showed the forever dreaded tip screen). the bland food, paired with the smell of the building did not sit right with us.
