From the moment my fiancé and I walked into Plant Gossip, we knew we had discovered a new gem in Coeur d’Alene.
After being seated, the wait staff quickly brought us our requested drinks, and within minutes, the owner personally stopped by to share more about the incredible menu. We were thrilled to learn that everything is 100% organic, completely vegan, and made without any animal products. Even more impressive—every dish is prepared at low temperatures to preserve nutrients and maximize flavor.
The atmosphere was nothing short of spectacular. We visited on a late, sunny afternoon, with the garage-style windows open to let in the fresh air and golden light. It created the perfect ambiance for a truly memorable dining experience.
I ordered the sloppy Joe burger, while my fiancé chose the jackfruit tacos. Both meals were generously portioned, incredibly flavorful, and worth every penny. We left feeling full, satisfied, and already planning to try everything else on the menu.
We were so impressed that we returned the very next day.
In just two days, we sampled the sloppy Joe burger, jackfruit tacos, lentil jackfruit burger, Alfredo pasta (absolutely delicious!), guacamole toast, house-made almond milk infused with what seemed like 15 different seeds and nuts, and one of the vegan cheesecakes. Every single item was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor.
Michael Dean, the owner, took time to share a bit of his personal journey—one rooted in health, healing, and the life-giving power of real food. His passion is evident in everything this place offers, and he ensures every guest feels welcome and appreciated.
Plant Gossip is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. From the clean, peaceful space to the warm, knowledgeable staff and extraordinary menu, it’s a place that leaves you nourished in every way.
We’re already planning to return weekly for the foreseeable future. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Plant Gossip team, for bringing something so refreshing and needed to the CDA area. We love the food, the people, and most of all, the vibrant energy that keeps us coming back.
We love you...
Read moreLeave any pre-conceived cynical notions you may have about healthy plant, legumes, nut, seed, and fruit based entrees, soups, and sides as not delicious. This incredible gem will blow you away with the savory, wholesome flavors, and a creative selection of beer & wine if desired. My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and tried what became the best split pea soup of all time after decades of consuming what we thought was the best - literally indescribable the savory deliciousness - fulfilling but not filling - we actually felt energized after eating big bowls! The baked on premises nutritious milled I think I recall onsite warmed bread was arguably the best ever - nutty flavor of goodness. We added some Virgin HellBoy Crunchy trail mix Brazil nut butter on the bread and we're in disbelief as our palettes told us it was a delightful symphony of flavors. The Maple Almond Mealk drink was hands down delicious - I've never found any almond milk that I would say is delicious - this is all that and left you wanting more! Packed with protein and other goodness - what we enjoyed was just a small sampling of the menu - can't wait to try the rest!
The owner Michael visited with us and his vision and history with his food journey are genuine and speak through his creations. We are hooked and will order from his online store to ship to or home a few hundred miles away.
Imagine feeling light and well after eating a fulfilling meal - no sluggishness, simply energized. Come enjoy this amazing...
Read moreEDIT: We went there Friday night, Sept 26, 2025, and the cafe is currently "closed until further notice". Call ahead and see exactly which part of the business is open. What a treasure! Plant Gossip is basically a raw organic vegan restaurant, the only one for hundreds of miles. I don't think Seattle even has a restaurant like this. They use no gluten, soy, processed foods, chemicals, or additives, and everything they do is made inhouse. Great, creative food that is delicious and filling. They also have an amazing assortment of house made nut butters, plus smoothies, shakes, desserts, beer and wine, and more. The kitchen was a little slow when we were there (over 30 minutes for our dishes to arrive), but I am guessing some of the dishes we ordered took a little time to prepare. It was worth the wait. The Yucatan Power Bowl is money! My wife had a full size Sunshine Salad, and neither of us could finish our meal. We had plenty of leftovers. (Edit: The menu prices for meals are a few dollars higher now than in the currently posted menu pictures. Here are pictures of the menu as...
