I’ve been meaning to swing by here since they opened. I finally got the chance this past Friday. It’s a husband and wife crew who do it all. As good as the food is, they could look for a bigger place and hire a staff. That’s neither here nor there because the pizza is sooooooo good I don’t care how I get it as long as I do!
I’m a wood fired fanatic and man, the dough with the char was heavenly. Everything on top of the dough had wonderful flavor.
I ordered the margarita pizza because that’s the litmus scale for pizza. (It’s like refried beans in a Mexican restaurant.) It didn’t disappoint. They added dots of pesto which added another level of tastiness.
I also ordered the Caesar and I ate every bite. I’m not a crouton fan but I ate the leftover soggy croutons in the morning- that’s how tasty those babies are.
My advice is to get here early, or call in or whatever your bag is, because they sell out! I’ve always said that a restaurant should make killer food and just sell out as much as possible. Don’t make too much of some subpar quality food- do over-the-top, bomb, mind blowing food and watch ‘em line up. It’s always better to sell out; it shows that the product is just that good.
They have a couple beers and pops. Have one, sit at the counter and watch them crank out Za from the wood fired oven. Service is super fast! Even when you add a cheese pizza at the last...
Read moreAwful!!! Small sized pizzas, rude-service, overpriced, gluten-free pizza was burnt, small portions, and our order was incorrect. This is my 1st time leaving a bad review. Do not recommend this place unless you are into wasting your money. Plus their hours are annoying. Go to Cascadia or Back Porch bakery for better pizza.
Completely unsatisfied and will NEVER return again even if they gave me a gift card
We ordered pizzas and salads to go to find out that we were charged an additional $9 for gluten free cust even after spending $68 for 2 personal sized pizzas. Our order was incorrect, our pizzas were burnt and the cashier was super rude. When I called back to inform them of what had happened she said I'm not going to do anything because you called a day after we've been open. I informed her that I wasn't going to call on mother's Day as we have been completely focused on family then she said you should have called me on Monday I informed her that my daughter stayed home sick. Absolute awful customer service. They need to get off of their hierarchy. There are better places to eat in CDA then this...
Read moreJust ate here again. It's great pizza, work of art pizza. We ate at Roots last year and had salad and beer with our pizza too. Glad to report that their quality is consistent and in a year, they just have a few more new special toppings/pizzas and salads. We ate recently at A Pizza Scholls in Portland, OR which we thought Roots reminded us of last year, and now that it is fresh in our minds Roots holds its own with A Pizza Scholls; it does seem that they are a similar type of pizza, Roots with a 34 year old starter, and a homemade pizza sauce. We had a spin on one of their pizza combo suggestions both times, they allowed us to swap out an ingredient for an alternative both times too. Atmosphere, it's clean, it's great pizza, just it's not an extra exciting restaurant experience or something is all I meant to indicate by 4 stars (it is down the street from the Coeur d'Alene resort and fairly extravagant tourist spots so Atmosphere in CDA ...); *Atmosphere: it's all...
