So the menu card at the register where you ordered said they had mimosas and mocktails. Those were the only drinks that didn't involve coffee. Under "Mocktails" it listed several flavors, pineapple being one. So I ordered that along with my chilaquiles. My wife's avocado toast and my chilaquiles came right out, within ten minutes and were perfectly done (I've never had chilaquiles made with fried flour tortillas but they were very tasty, although very small in portion size). We asked the server if our drinks were coming and he said "Your coffee and pineapple will be right out". So far so good. Ten minutes later my companion's coffee arrived, and again I was told mine was almost ready. The table next to ours got a coffee and cold drink, and ten more minutes passed before the person who had taken our order came out to inform us that we hadn't ordered or paid for a pineapple mocktail, and she knew we hadn't because, and this is the best part, "We can't make Mocktails because we don't have our liquor license yet". She offered to get me a lemonade (I had long since finished my food but was pretty thirsty) and when I said "yes please" she said "I'll need some form of payment before I can put your order in". So I paid and waited for my lemonade, sucked it down and left. Food was tasty, service was suboptimal, went somewhere else right afterwards to eat breakfast again as the $50 breakfast we had just eaten was just enough food to whet our appetites. Sigh. Oh, and since I'm on a tear, the large store sticker left on the pot for the potted plant in the bar area kinda made me giggle. Stay...
Read moreAs soon as I walked in at about 9am on a Friday, I was happily greeted by Mackenzie. It was my first time there and the atmosphere was already welcoming and cozy on a rainy morning. I got the Lox + Cream which was so delicious! I also got the honeybee coffee and I highly recommend that. Afterwards, I decided to try their Lilikoi Mimosa and it was so tasty! These 3 items in total cost me about $35 which was worth every penny.
I came by myself, but being a mom with littles, I have a mom perspective of places. It's fine for kids, but there is nothing there that is catered for them, which is totally fine. Just an fyi to those with kids. The one bathroom I went into didn't have a changing table, so that would make it hard for those with babies. I don't know if the other bathroom has one.
At 9am, there were only a handful of other people there. It was nice and quiet. At 10am, every seat filled up and it was loud in there due to the type of acoustics with that many people. It didn't bother me, but just a heads up- probably not best for groups durong peak times because it would be hard to hear everyone versus 1 or 2 other people.
I'm already...
Read moreI heard good things about this place, but probably wouldn't go again. The food can be good...the coffee be good...atmosphere ok. But when the employees present an unpleasant customer service experience, it taints the entire experience. I had a coffee cake and a drip coffee to go. Both were satisfactory, nothing to brag about. My wife and daughter stayed to eat in. Unfortunately, all three young ladies we dealt with, especially the one working the register had such poor attitudes and looks of annoyance on their faces. When as a customer you feel compelled to apologize to the employee cuz they make you feel as though we are a bother to them, it ruins the dinning experience. No smiles, no thank yous, no "can I get you anything else?" after delivering your food. It was very uncomfortable and that environment was set by these employees that are truly in need of customer experience training. I would have possibly ignored it if just one was like this...maybe a bad day? We all have them. But all three ladies upfront aparrently having a bad day? I doubt it. Hopefully this was an...
