I don't give out my 5 stars easily, but this place made it easy to give. All the things I tried had such good flavor. My hats off to the chef and the owner who backs up your vision and flavor styles. š I wanted to stay and try everything on the menu, but alas, I have but one small stomach. Haha So I will have to go back again and again until I can try everything. š The drinks were great, too. We ended up trying a flight of mojitos and my friends and I decided they were big and shareable. Otherwise, I would've had to call a Uber. š haha
Oh and I can't forget to tell you all about the staff. Adam ( the owner) was training a new server (Jozie) and asked us how she was doing. He was very proud of her dive in running attitude, and sang her praises. We felt the same. We didn't even realize she was new. As busy as she was she kept a carefree, beautiful smile on her face. She was very communicative and let us know right away that she was getting right to us and let us know what she had going first. It was helpful to us to know we weren't forgotten and she was clearly, practically running around. No joke, running! You can tell she really cares about the place she works at and the people she serves. Adam, if you can clone her, get to it man! š š We ran into Jozie at her other job, Trader Joe's and she had the same high energy, kindness and personable quality she had at your place. Wow, right? In a world where covid seemed to kill the service industry or even the desire for people to work somehow Jozie surpassed that bump in the road embraced all the best qualities in the service work and BAM, set the bar high for the rest of us. Can't leave out the others who work at the Tree House though because we saw the chef working hard, another waitress who we didn't catch her name was also running and cleaning like it was a marathon and the owner who did not slack in some back room office. He came out introduced himself and helped out when it was busy. We also met some of the suppliers of the most delicious battered mushrooms I've ever had. Pink, Black and Blue Oysters are grown by the couple at the bar. They were super friendly. Their quality products along with a exclusive organic liquor supplier called Tractor takes this place up to a 6 š review. š
So to recap...clone Jozie....keep Tractor and the awesome mushroom suppliers, give the chef no reason to ever ever leave , and please open a TreeHouse in missoula. Hold that head high Adam you have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one of the worst restaurant experiences Iāve ever had. I came in getting told it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait for food because one of the cooks called out. Completely fine. Was there only 5 tables including us, sure. But I get it. Confirmed that is okay. I asked for a drink menu. That took 15 minutes. We got the mojito flight and ordered only the sample platter. It is only fried food. The mojito flight was fantastic. But then we waited over an hour for our food and the bartender never approached our table. We tried to distract ourselves by playing one of the games that they offered which was a nice option. Held our attention for about a half hour. But after that with empty drinks we were getting frustrated because she kept avoiding us. I watched food sit in the window for over ten minutes because it was waiting for fries. My husband and myself have been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. Fried food is quick. Why have the sandwiches sit in the window and get cold for something that only takes a couple minutes. My husband left to get food somewhere else because we werenāt getting food or drinks. Our food finally comes. Again, one appetizer. It comes and itās cold. Itās just four fried things. Why is everything cold? Then a table that came in forty minutes after us gets the same thing 5 minutes later. I tell the bartender itās cold, she offers to microwave it for me. I say Iāll just take it to go but I would like a discount. She says they had a big table so thatās why it took so long. It was literally a 6 top. She talks to the owner and he gives me a 15 percent discount but also tells me sheās being checking in on us. Which is a lie. Iām like I havenāt spoken to you in over an hour. She tells me that I should talk to the owner. I say okay. She comes back saying itāll be 5 minutes because heās cooking the food now. I say thatās fine. Why would I want the other customers to have to wait too. After about 10 minutes, she comes back saying itāll be at least 5 more minutes. So at that point, Iām so ready to leave. My husband already has food at a different restaurant and heās waiting for me. So i say I need some type of refund. This is crazy. She talks to owner and he agrees to refund my food. Which yeah, thatās the least they can do. Iāve been here coming on 2 hours with one cold appetizer. Anyways, I went to Emran and actually ate and it was fantastic. Avoid this place unless you appreciate slow and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBased on the high reviews and the photographs of the food, my girlfriend wanted to eat here badly. After being seated, she remarked a couple of times how this place just presents so differently on the reviews and photos than the actual experience in-person.
We walked over and I was definitely up for the mojitos, but they said they were out of something and couldn't make them. I ordered the white peach cider instead-- out of that too. I ended up getting some berry cider that was way too sweet and I didnt like it.
They were out of several food items that we were interested in. In the end we decided to order the tiny tacos and the stuffed peppers. We were also considering a third item but decided to see what we get first.
The tiny tacos were tasty. The stuffed peppers... oh man, the chef left a sticker on the bell peppers, you know the little produce stickers you scan at the grocery store. That's completely unacceptable to me and it grossed my girlfriend out, so we decided to call it quits.
In addition, the bathroom had no paper towels... which is unsanitary because you have to use your hands to touch the faucet, the soap, and the door... and you still come out with wet hands.
The chef cut his finger apparently while making our food. He was coming out of the bathroom when I was waiting to go in, and he was trying to get a bandage from the medical kit. I hope the guy's okay, but we also kept hoping his blood didn't make it into/on our food. Since there were no paper towels, the unsanitary piece above is even more relevant.
All in all, this was a disastrous dining experience and unacceptable. The only bright spot was the bartender / waitress who was super patient...
