Woops! was a new place for my wife and I to try in the heart of downtown CDA. The bakery has always intrigued us, and we wanted to give them a try. Since we live so far outside of CDA, heading into town is an experience we make the most of. Woops! was our next new spot to try. The store is easy to access if you intend to walk or park faraway so as to avoid the steep city parking rates and not pay the exorbitant private parking fees that seem to dominate the PNW these days.
The initial experience was wonderful. The baristas were wonderfully kind, and talkative! They even upsold their dine-in experience. Kudos to their service.
My wife and I ordered two food items and a coffee, both of which came out rather quickly. However one of the food orders was incorrect. We did not make an issue over it because it was not worth sending back to correct. The coffee was good to boot.
As we sat drinking our coffee and eating the food, an interaction occurred between the owner and customers who came in with large but leashed dogs.
A customer who was already seated in the bakery had with her two small lap dogs also on a leash.
Upon the large-dog owners entry, the small lap-dogs began barking wildly, leading to one of the large dogs to bark. (As dogs do). At the time, I did not know that the owner and a friend were present in the store. After the interaction between the owner, what appeared to have been one of her friends and the large-dog owners had us disappointed.
The owner said that "only dogs that are manageable are allowed inside." The issue with this comment is, the small dogs were the ones who barked first. At no point were the large dogs an issue to anyone in the shop. But because the owner and her friend felt they were intimidating they were asked to remove the dogs.
Now of course it is totally reasonable for a private business to restrict or even bar dogs from their premises unless they are service dogs.
The largest issue at hand was how rude the owner and her friend were to these customers who, after being treated so poorly, wound up buying drinks after having to make the husband stand in the cold as well as the dogs.
From all appearances this shop is worth your time to stop in and spend the money for their coffee and food. The staff is wonderful and deserving of your tips. However, if you have a dog larger than a purse, leave it at home, they are not...

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, eager to guide you through their array of treats. The European-style décor, complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows and fresh flowers on each table, creates a serene setting perfect for relaxation or catching up with friends.
Woops! is renowned for its authentic French macarons, boasting over 20 flavors ranging from classic vanilla and pistachio to unique options like lavender and birthday cake. Their almond croissants are equally impressive, featuring flaky, buttery layers that rival those found in Parisian bakeries.
The coffee here is equally noteworthy. Brewed in-house using a proprietary European-style roast, it’s smooth and robust, often enjoyed without the need for cream. Whether you prefer a classic latte or an iced americano, the beverages pair perfectly with the bakery’s sweet offerings.
Beyond pastries and coffee, Woops! offers a selection of savory items, including sandwiches like the ham and cheese croissant and the apple and brie croissant sandwich. These options provide a satisfying balance to the sweet treats and are crafted with the same attention to quality.
The bakeshop is housed in a beautifully preserved building over 100 years old, with much of its original architectural design exposed, adding to the café’s charm. Seasonal decorations and thoughtful touches throughout the space enhance the inviting atmosphere.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Woops! Bakeshop offers a delightful escape into a world of exquisite flavors and warm hospitality. It’s a little slice of Paris in the heart of Coeur d’ Alene, and a visit here is sure to...
Read moreI’ve walked by this bakery before, and I remember noticing that it had a darling atmosphere, but today is the first day I actually went in. I actually went for a job interview, but as I arrived early I had time to have a look around. It’s a very cute little bakeshop, with pink and yellow flowers at all the tables and an atmosphere which can only be described as “the essence of pink lemonade”. There is a mouth-watering selection of baked goods (including gluten-free options!), but the star of the display case is their stunning variety of macarons. Woops! offers all different colors and flavors, such as red velvet, blueberry cheesecake, and even birthday cake! I can’t wait to try all of them, but today my mission was to buy pastries for a friend so I ended up choosing some pain au chocolat and boy, were we not disappointed! These pastries are flakier than that friend who ALWAYS cancels plans at the last second, and filled with a ganache richer than Warren Buffet. My friend said, and I quote, “If you learn how to make these, I want them for my birthday!” The manager, Shelly, is a total sweetheart. She noticed me lowkey having a panic attack and was unbelievably kind and understanding, and immediately went and got me some water (sidenote: they put cucumber in the water here! Such a nice touch). To summarize, this bakery has quality food, a charming atmosphere, and a...
