Zip's Drive-In — Restaurant in Coeur d'Alene

I feel like I'm being generous giving a 1 star. I wish there was an option to give 0. On two separate occasions I have come to this restaurant and have left feeling disappointed and upset. One of the gals (with black/green hair) who works at the window and takes your order, acts like you are a HUGE inconvenience. If you ask a question about the menu, she is very short, and makes you feel like you did something wrong. Oh and when you get to the window? She is even worse. This most recent time, she did not acknowledge my existance, did not tell me the total of my meal, didn't even offer her hand to take my payment. She didn't say ONE word to me, gave me my card and shut the window in my face. I have talked to others who have shared similar experiences. There are people like me who will stop some place just for fries. Yes, its true. Some of are vegetarians. Some are just French fry specialists. Crickets on Sherman has a floppy fry. Its quite nice with some vinegar or lemon juice. Wendy's, my favorite, has a perfectly "natural" fry. Not too much oil. Great with honey mustard. McDonalds has a grease taste that I grew weary of, yes I know...bad chemicals. If, btw, the fries are a dark brown the oil has not been changed in awhile. Zips has a boring potatoey texture and taste. I have made such a fry at home with my Fry Babe. Yet Zips is not greasy, but not great. Went in for 6 piece chicken strip basket and got home to find out we got fish sticks. The fries were still partially frozen and soggy and clumped together in the bucket. Went back to request them remake the order and could hear a lady popping off in the background throwing a hissy fit she also had to remake my fries. They only replaced the bucket of fries and not the fries that come with the 6 piece chicken strips. Get home again and find out the chicken strips have changed and now my kids think they are disgusting when they used to be their favorite. Definetly not going back due to the horrible customer service and no longer good chicken strips. I was needing a convenient meal that ended up being a large inconvenience and them acting like it was my fault...
