It's been a few weeks since we went and I forgot to write this review, but WOW were we impressed! My husband and I tend to eat out at high quality restaurants regularly, so it takes a lot to impress us. Creating a reservation online was super simple, just a couple clicks to reserve our time. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated almost immediately, which was nice. The decor is definitely reminiscent of the past, but it's all really well done and very clean and upscale. The view from the table was gorgeous! We both had drinks and the clams to start. I didn't get a photo of the clams but they were delicious! The broth was really light, which let the flavor shine through. The bread served with it was great as well for sopping up the leftover broth :) We were both happy with our drink selections, I got the Cedar Sunrise? I think. It was strong but very good. For our entrees, we both got the Prime Rib served rare with baked potato and the salad bar. We added on the Lobster tails too. The salad bar was lovely - very clean, lots of selections, and real bacon, which made the husband happy. We could have just eaten the salad bar and been happy! The Prime Rib was to DIE for. I've had a lot of Prime in my life and I was pleasantly surprised. The quality was excellent, it cut like butter and the crust on the outside was well seasoned without being overpowering. The Lobster tails were delicious - not chewy at all and very tender. The only thing we wished is they had some bigger lobster tails, instead of just the 5oz size. Overall, it was a great experience. Our server was on point and everything went very smoothly. Thanks for a great time! We will be back!

I had received a gift certificate from my boss a few years back and had nearly forgotten I had it. Our anniversary sermed to be a fitting time to utilize it since we rarely go to expensive restaurants. I was hoping for a much better experience and food quality. I don't typically care to review places I'll never return to but when spending this kind of money on a meal, I feel obligated. The reservation system was quite advanced but a tad cumbersome to do online. If I'm out and about or driving, I'd like to be able to just phone in. If you are at all the type of person who gets car sick, think twice. It IS a floating (and rolling) restaurant. It helps that every seat has a view of the surrounding mountains to ease the motion. The ambiance was OK internally, nothing to write home about. A nice touch was the Happy Anniversary card and rose petals at the table. They get a lot of special occasions and it was obvious the cards get recycled often. The server was attentive enough but seemed rushed to get you the bill. The people whom refilled our water was on it, almost annoyingly. The table was also covered in water but not due to spillage but rather sweating glasses and the polyester napkins did little to sop it up. A simple coaster would help alleviate that. The buss staff was less than professional, carrying several dirty dishes from table to table collecting, and literally dumping my partners fork back on the table for reuse. We even had to return silverware, a bread plate, and a chipped glass back (and we aren't the type to be picky about water spots, this was food). It was quite nice to be able to assemble your own salad from the salad bar where I found it all quite fresh, but we were also the first seating/reservation of the day. The drinks were fairly weak. The meal wasn't plated spectacularly (I forgot to take a pic of the main course) and the temperature of the food cooled rather quickly leaving cold clumpy mashed potatoes and barely warm New York steak. My partner did say his lobster tail was cooked perfectly although! A nice touch again was the complementary huckleberry ice cream taster for our anniversary. The portions were adequate enough, but I do not feel worth the price as I could have spent as much at a lesser touted restaurant and feel I would receive more value, quality, and pleasurable dining experience.

We had dinner here on 6/7/18, it was my husband's birthday so we wanted to enjoy something nice. We made our reservation, showed up right on time and got seated quickly. It was not particularly busy. Our waitress went by after about 5 minutes and let us know she'd be right back. I ordered a Coke and a virgin mary, my husband requested a Dr pepper but since they didn't have that he chose root beer. As we were ready to order, we placed our orders at the same time. My husband ordered the cedar plank salmon and chose the salad bar instead of the clam chowder. I ordered the scallops and chose the salad bar as well. The salad bar was exquisite with the freshest of ingredients, including roasted seasoned nuts in the place of croutons (to die for) and even huckleberry poppy seed dressing as an option (many others too). While waiting we requested a glass of the local Coeur d'Alene chardonnay. A bit bitter for my preference but wine is subjective. When the orders arrived, his was perfect (seasoning/cook), mine on the other hand was disappointing (though seasoned perfectly) the scallops* were charred on the surface and absolutely colorless underneath. They were rubbery and unpleasant. *I love scallops and have eaten them from coast to coast. This is by far the worst prep I've ever experienced. The manager (assuming as she didn't officially introduce herself) came by to see how everything was. We mentioned that his was perfect and that mine though was seasoned perfectly, the scallops were sadly disappointing. Her response was "oh okay, thanks". As a surprise, the waitress surprised my husband with a complimentary huckleberry sundae for his birthday. We paid the check (reduced tip as the service was lacking and the drinks sat empty and no attention to the details) and left, reluctant to return. As a meal that was pretty much a Benjamin, we expected more.

I've been here twice now. The second time confirmed they're just as every bit of amazingness as I've remembered. We went during Restaurant Week which coincides with my birthday. The view to the lake is gorgeous. When we were seated, they had a table with a sign that said happy birthday. I know they must get a ton of people wanting to celebrate birthdays so I appreciated it. For food, we ordered the crab cakes. Two good sized cakes that were delicate and flavorful. There were complimentary wheat rolls with whipped butter. Nothing to write home about, but they were complimentary. The lobster bisque was amazing! Hearty, so much flavor. I could eat that every cold day. I was most excited about the salmon. The last time I remembered it being cooked to perfection and so tender. This year did not disappoint. Favorite salmon hands down. It was paired with fingerling potatoes and veggies. We also had the seafood rissoto with some grilled shrimp. The seafood rissoto was quite cheesey and chunky. Yum! Ended our meal with the mud pie, chocolate mousse and a birthday huckleberry ice cream! They were the perfect size after a meal like that and delicious of course! Service was excellent! Our water was continually refilled, they checked on us several times if we needed anything, food came out on time and I was most impressed this all happened with a very busy restaurant on a Saturday night. The menu may seem high priced, but it's definitely worth it!

What a fabulous restaurant! Amazing food and terrific service, on top of a great view of the lake. A short walk down the dock to the floating restaurant with almost 360° views of the lake. When we entered we could feel a small amount of rocking; however, once seated it wasn’t noticeable at all. Take a moment to read about this unique building on their website. We started with the fried calamari with two dipping sauces, which was delicious. My husband had the salad bar with his entree, which was fresh and had numerous topping options. I chose the house-made clam chowder, which was filled with potatoes and clam meat. This was served with fresh baked bread. My husband had the Biergarten Filet with sautéed mushrooms and the loaded Idaho baked potato. His filet was tender and mouthwatering. I had the Fried Chicken and it was spectacular. The chicken was moist, tender, and perfectly fried, sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy. And top it off, was this amazing maple honey chipotle sauce—out of this world! Portions were plentiful, so we took home leftovers. Even though we were stuffed, we shared a small Mile High Mud Pie. The chocolate and caramel with the espresso ice cream was yummy! We look forward to coming back here in the future!

I would describe this place as serving 2 star food in a 5 star location. The clam chowder was pretty good, creamy, thick with a very slight hint of pepper though I think it could have benefitted with a bit more pepper. The Peppercorn New York Strip was cooked between medium and medium rare which is good to me. The texture of the steak was odd. It was very soft instead of having the typical chew of a strip. The flavour was really mild. The mashed potatoes it was served with had cold spots (refrigerator cold) and I could stick a fork in them and move them around the plate as a single unit. The gravy had a real sweet component, which was off-putting. The asparagus was slightly overcooked but was nicely seasoned and still quite good. The shrimp were nicely cooked. Their fried chicken was bad. It had no flavor at all. The cornbread under it was decent. It was served with similar mashed potatoes to the strip steak though they were warmer. I suspect they may come pre-prepared and heated in the restaurant.
