I don’t normal write reviews but felt the need to share. This was my second time back to Diane’s. I loved the food the first time and was taking a friend out to cheer her up today for the 2nd time. We stood in line outside waiting for a table for about 35-45 minutes (did the same last time) a couple who arrived after us went inside and a staff member came out and called their name. I asked her if they had put in their name by calling because we had been waiting and they only just arrived. she said no and apologized but sat them anyways. Okay. We waited another 15 minutes, finally sat down and had a delicious meal. Check arrived we were still finishing up but I paid and waited for my change. She came back with my change and took the plates as I was sipping my last bit of coffee she says “I normally don’t do this but there is a table outside that’s waiting to be seated, it is Sunday after all”- I couldn’t believe it, we were seated and ate within 45 minutes (food arrived after 30) - we hadn’t barely paid when she said this. Rudest comment after waiting over an hour to be seated. I am all for supporting local, and both my friend and I are former waitresses, I HAVE NEVER been asked to get up for another table before. Only reason this isn’t 1 star is because the food really is good. It’s a shame the staff didn’t handle themselves better. Don’t think I’d come...
Read moreI would give this restaurant 0 stars if I knew how. I called this morning at 9:15 to place a takeout order for 12 people. I understand that this hour on Sunday morning is busy, but I assumed that an establishment selling breakfast would be equipped to handle a takeout order, and is interested in making money. I had previewed the menu online, and written down my exact order with no menu deviations. I was speaking to a pleasant young woman, and was ordering the last few items on my list, when a different, gruff-voiced employee got on the phone, said, “We’re very busy; you’ll have to call later”, and hung up. I am a business owner, so I’m keenly aware of how to speak to customers. I wasn’t complaining or being difficult; I was trying to give this local establishment my business. If it was the owner, you should take a course on customer service. If it wasn’t, the owner has an employee that is putting their business at risk. I don’t know if the owner/manager reads these reviews, and may in fact believe that one disgruntled would-be patron is unimportant. Every potential customer is important, and should be treated accordingly. Ann Mortimer,...
Read moreNot my best expierence. The older woman with the foreign accent was very kind and accommodating about my not being able to sit on a stool and offered the big table. All the other tables and booths that were not used due to social distancing had large masking tape X across them. This table did not. I was seated for under 5 minutes and the man working behind the counter came over (right after a big group arrived) and told me I had to move to the counter for social distancing. I said I couldn't sit on a stool (due to back surgery) so I said I would sit outdoors. He said it's not their space so I said I would take food to my car. I then had to leave as soon as I ordered since I was not "dining in". My pancakes were brought outdoors but had no butter or syrup nor plastic silverware to eat them. Ended up having marginally good cold pancakes after my 25 minute drive home where, thankfully, I at least had some syrup and my own silverware to consume them in a way other than ad a dry roll up with nothing after having to leave du to my inability to sit...
