Now listen here—if you haven’t made the drive to Scotties Frozen Custard, you’re depriving yourself of a heavenly experience. Holy hell, this stuff was amazing. We’re not talking your average soft serve in a flimsy cone. No sir. This is rich, creamy custard that feels like it was churned up by angels with nothing better to do. I had a sundae that came stacked with just the right amount of toppings, cherry perched right on top like a victory flag. Every bite was smooth, decadent, and made me forget every sad excuse for ice cream I’ve had at roadside stands over the years. And that malt? Thicker than a bricklayer’s handshake—none of that watered-down nonsense you slurp through a straw in two minutes flat. This one made you work for it, and the flavor payoff was worth every tug on that straw. The whole place has that laid-back, country-porch charm with picnic tables and flowers hanging like it’s straight out of a summer postcard. Scotties doesn’t just serve custard; they serve up happiness in a cup. Mark my words—this one’s worth a detour.

My summer-long search for Connecticut roadside eateries led me to a beautiful location today and some tasty food! Scottie's Frozen Custard offers a variety of lunch options at a decent price. Sadly, I did not save room for a frozen custard, so I guess I must return soon... ;) Today, I ordered the 6 ounce Angus burger, Fries Frenzy (seasoned, breaded fries), and large soft drink. Honestly, this would be my new nomination for best burger in Connecticut. And possibly best french fries, as well. Delicious! It came to $16 and change, which is comparable, given the larger burger. Eat here once, and you will be a customer for life!!!

Easy to find. Ample parking. We all tried custard for the first time today, and can never go back to ice cream again. So rich. So delicious. They had lots of flavors. Service was phenomenal 🤌 Super friendly, patient with my questions, and everything came with a smile. Huge covered area to sit with like 10 picnic tables, string lights and a bug zapper. The other side had a gazebo type of thing with a more romantic feel to it. Regular food as well, but we did not order any this time. We will definitely go out of our way to come here again when it's time for a cold treat!

I called in to place an order today from the center of Moodus. Was asked to wait on hold for one minute . I waited on hold for close to 20 minutes. Without any acknowledgment. We got all the way to the restaurant, stood in line for 8 minutes and finally placed an order. When we told the kid at the window we were already on hold for 20 minutes to place an order he could care less. They didn’t even acknowledge or care that we had drove one town over and were on hold for over 20 minutes trying to order. Finally we placed our order in person and then it took another 15 minutes to get the food. We asked for chicken tenders with fries as one of our items. We didn’t get the fries. When we asked about them they said we had to get back in the line to order the fries. So apparently we either have to eat our warm food while we stand in the line to get what we ordered or we have to get in the line order the fries while the rest of our food gets cold. They also didn’t have the sauces. Terrible experience. I will not come back and I will be sure to let others know about the horrible experience. Scotties used to care about their customers but not anymore. Not worth the money...

Used to go to Scotty's all the time for their custard but havent been for a few years but this last time sealed it and we will probably never go back. The first person to help us when we ordered food was very nice and the food was ok but when we went back for frozen custard there was a new employee who was the antithesis of rude. He rolled his eyes immediately when I asked for a to go box, practically tossed a bag at my mom and almost shut the window on me when we where trying to order. Then rolled his eyes when we said we wanted to order (was not the last time he would do this). Back when we used to go you could get a flavor with chocolate or vanilla but it must have changed. Instead of saying anything he aggressively told me to pick a flavor and kept getting more and more rude. I ended up walking away from the incident after at least the 5th time he rolled his eyes and sighed impatiently. I have personally worked food service and retail most of my life and have never treated someone the way he treated me and my mother. To top off the custard was tasted chalky and smelled sour. I'm very sad to see what used to be a staple end up on a...

I went to Scotties and had a bad experience. I took the time to review on yelp. I didn't give just one star either, generously I gave several. Here is the owners response.... Wow! I spoke with both of our employee's Firstly ALL we have is frozen custard your comment about having to ASK for it doesn't even make sense. You do need to ask if you want it swirled for some reason as we hand scoop our vanilla, chocolate and flavor of the day which is tradition for real frozen custard. You did not accept the cone. When she presented it to you, you stated you thought is would be swirled. YOU NEVER LICKED it and gave it back to her. When we make mistakes on items we do put it in a dish with a cover and the kids take home the mistakes at the end of the night. Both of my employee's do not have the attitude you projected and I don't appreciate your comments about them. Why you felt the need to be dishonest and not even get the facts straight is a real head scratcher. We try very hard to please everyone and work harder than you can imagine to do it. Take your business to McDonalds in the future.

No wonder the staff had the...
