Bills steak house is a long time favorite. Bills on the Green, Bills Grill house, not so much. We had not come In Years because we were unhappy. Last night we decided to give it another try. My husband ordered a ribeye med rare. It came out dark red rare but he went for it anyway. I ordered prime rib med rare and it came out char broiled and med well to well, but I continued on also. The baked potatoes were not ready so he got salt and paper steak fries. Well, steak fries with salt and pepper on top it was. I got mashed potatoes and gravy. The taters were boxed and poorly made, the gravy, canned. We both ordered asparagus which was smothered in margarine and we were upcharged for this. Although we were not informed it would be an upcharge. I ordered fountain Pepsi for 3 bucks. My meal alone came to 34$. I would gladly pay that for a good meal but this was not! Our server didn't seem to excited to serve us, mind you we did not complain or send anything back. Later in the night we both were blessed with a night in the bathroom accompanied by some horrible cramping. I tried to call the next day during open hours so they could avoid anyone else getting sick but no one bothered to answer the phone. We will not...
Read moreThe service itself was great. I think our server's name was Kristin, but I did not catch it while settling in my infant. She checked on us frequently and was quick with refills, removing plates, and updating us on our food status. Just an overall great server.
Our appetizers came out fairly quickly (onion rings and mussels) but the entrees took close to an hour and fifteen minutes. I only tried one mussel since it wasn't mine and it tasted good.
We were really disappointed about the entrees though aside from the super long wait. I was surprised to see what it was for the price. Frozen, pre-made chicken tenders for $14. Pre-made flat bread (the actual crust, it looked like a flat sandwich wrap like you get from the store) for about the same price, pre-made shrimp, and the Alfredo sauce tasted pre-made (salty/processed). For the cost, why so much prepared, pre-made food? The burger tasted good and reports to be ground in-house.
Compared to Bill's other place I just expected better, especially for the prices. I'll go to Culver's for fried, frozen food for 1/3 the cost. I don't this the family will be returning to this one. We'll stick to Bill's Steakhouse a little further...
Read moreI was expecting this place to be at least a little upscale but it felt more like an Applebee's on a golf course. The bar was very limited, only three or so low-end whiskeys and basic domestic beer.
The food was extraordinarily bland, we had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and there was little to no flavor. The entrees were even worse. I ordered the tuna steaks, and at 26.99 I expected them to be somewhat flavorful. They were cooked well but almost entirely unseasoned, except for the thick coating of black sesame seeds.
My girlfriend ordered the Greek salad, opting to add chicken that was so dry she nearly choked. Our son wanted the macaroni and cheese, which looked like blue box with shredded cheese on top. Far from what any of us were expecting.
We ate less than half of our food and waited for what felt like an eternity for our server to return. She never came to check in on us or to offer to refill any of our beverages. After receiving the check she disappeared again, and I had to go to the bar to pay.
Overall I'm really grateful for this experience, I had heard good things about this restaurant but I'm glad to know I'm not missing out on anything special. $85...
