I went for an anniversary dinner, and was expecting to be disappointed. I was wrong :-) We were seated quickly on the patio by the river, after being told on the phone that they only had indoor seating. We showed up early and they still got us accommodated right away. Server was immediately on our table, and she was pleasant. I had read that prices were a little more steep than I am comfortable with, but this was a special occasion for us. Any time a restaurant wants $50 for a steak out in the woods, I figure that it is because of the location and NOT because of the quality of the food. Again.... I was delighted to be wrong :-) I had the Filet Mignon with cherry demi-glaze. My wife had the pork medallions in a mushroom sauce. My steak was perfect. Her dish was perfect as well. Service was fast, food was great, view was fantastic. I suspect that other reviews indicating slow service might be due to a full house during high season. I could see how that might slow things down a bit. We were here the week before Labor day, so there were less visitors in the area. This is a mountain community. If you are on vacation, plan on things being a little slower than usual, and simply enjoy the view! I will visit The Antlers every trip to Creede. (BTW, the table next to us got the rack of lamb, and I was jealous until my steak was placed in front of me.)

Came here with a group of 4 and spent right around $250. The outside patio is really nice and right up on the river. It's a nicer restaurant in a part of CO that doesn't really have any other options. The decor was a bit dated, though played into the "country" vibe. The outdoor tables and chairs were all kitschy and could've been nicer based on the menu prices. Most items will run you around $30-50, they had everything from Elk Loin to Chicken Marsala and even Rack of Lamb. The weird thing is they don't list what side item comes with your meal, whether it's mashed potatoes or whatnot. Our server was nice, though the service didn't feel upscale which one would expect based on the prices. Once we ordered some cocktails, that were $17 each, it took 15-20min for them to show up. All in all, the food was good, not great, for a $60/pp charge. The view and people I was with that evening was much more memorable than the meal. Taking into account the restaurants remote-ness and decent menu offerings, I'd recommend if you're in the area looking for a special meal, but don't get your expectations up.

This restaurant has a great location and I only recommend drinks or appetizers on the deck. Unfortunately the dinner I experienced would earn a poor review from anyone. We were here on a Friday night at 5:30 PM. While I loved the burrata salad and cocktails the dinner options were not recommendable. I ordered the chefs special salmon in a coconut curry sauce that I was told came with two shrimp. It was only served with a single shrimp. My order also included bland green beans that had missed onion peel and rice with mushrooms. The salmon was not warm in the center and in my opinion this meal exhibited a clear lack of detail and flavour. My wife ordered the ravioli and it was served with no side dishes and was not worth ordering. I also must warn the team served us the wrong order with a pasta dish that I took a photo of prior to getting the correct order. I hope with better kitchen supervision they can reach your expectations but please avoid anything that is not simple to prepare.

The property and views is AMAZING but the restaurant wasn’t so much. We heard Great things and my husband wanted to celebrate his birthday at this place and it turned out to be a disappointment. My husband is a chef and knows good food and he was so upset. Our reservation were at 7:30pm and it took a waiter 20-30 minutes for them to say hi and take our order (The young boy serving water was excellent). We also did not get our food until after 9pm. We had our 3 boys with us and we decided at 9 it was time to leave. We paid over $200 for our meals that ended up getting boxed up. It looked like we received half serving of potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were not fresh. They were hard and looked a day old. And we only got 3 little skinny asparagus for the three meals. My husband order swordfish and it was mush! He ended up throwing his food away. My son got the trout plate and it was lacking flavor. He didn’t eat his food either and this boy loves food and trout.

I’m NEVER one to write a review but this was not a good experience. We hope with this information, you all will be able to take this as an opportunity to reevaluate your processes to make it a better experience for your...
