Golosas Mexican Sandwiches — Restaurant in Colorado

I am originally from L.A so growing up I was surrounded by authentic Mexican food. We came to Grand Junction on a short trip and we’re really looking forward tot eying some authentic food here. However, this place is everything but authentic Mexican food. The burgers are not that great or flavorful and the fries were soggy in oil. We got a carne asada burrito and the meat was flavorless and tough. It was also really dry and they didn’t even give me limes. They didn’t seem to have much cilantro either. Tbh I’d prefer lime over the lettuce they gave me. We all know limes are a Mexican staple for food. They didn’t have any. The place was empty on a Friday evening 🚩🚩… We would not recommend this place. We felt ripped off for what we paid and what we got. We both left more than half of our food bc we couldn’t...

Menudo Update:

Today we tried @golosassandwiches Menudo & a Guerilla Burrito w/Bacon

Synopsis: Menudo - The tripe was pleasant & the broth was flavorful. While I prefer hominy in my muenudo different places make it with or without depending on where they are from regionally. I added the onions, cilantro, oregano & lime they provided it was Bursting with Flavor. The onion broke up the soft monotony with crunchiness.

Burrito - 🌯 Good Burrito with Green Chile, Sausage, Potatoes, Egg & Cheese. The tortilla was not bad but other places definitely score a bit better. I would prefer it not being an opened ended Burrito but overall I will be back for more👍😁

I got food here the very first day I ever moved to Junction. Since I was new to the area, I had no idea where I had gotten the food from until I drove past the restaurant the other day. I knew I had to go back, 6 months later! I'm from the Midwest, specifically an area where authentic, or even good, Mexican food is not a thing. I've been told that the food in the area is not authentic, but I can't attest to that. All I know is that this is the best real Mexican food I've ever had. It's fairly priced, and you get a good amount of food. In all reality, it seems like it would be a rundown place you'd want to avoid, given where its located. But its anything but that!...
