Little Background Before I Give The Review.
I own Abe’s BBQ Smokehouse, the Food Truck directly across the road from Jefferson’s. I’ve been in Columbia long enough to remember when the building it’s in didn’t exist and there was just a big wooded lowland across the road. I’ve seen 4 restaurants attempt to make a go of it in that space and none lasted longer than 6 months. It’s been close to seven years since the last one failed and the space has been vacant for that time.
I’ve hoped for years that we would have good neighbors move in and Brian, the owner, is a very nice gentleman who wanted to bring something good to the area. A lot of people and businesses would get butt hurt over having a new neighbor. I completely disagree with this line of thought. Restaurants are HARD to make it in. Especially when people won’t give you a chance to make a few mistakes when you are NEW. New Managers, New Cooks, New Waitresses, New Everything. Imagine being given no chances to make a mistake when you take a new job, hardly seems fair does it?
I went to their soft opening on a Saturday evening and enjoyed several items, oysters, onion rings, and a double dipped chicken sandwich. All very good. I hope that Jefferson’s does well and will be given the chance to belong here in Columbia as our neighbor.
Maybe Columbia will learn to be kind to the New, and Embrace someone brave enough to invest everything they have in...
Read moreI travel for work. I Love Jefferson’s. I eat at a Jefferson’s all over the place in the south. My home location is in Cartersville/Rome, Ga. I get the same thing every time, I sit in the dinning room. Dbl dipped wings. It is NEVER spicy. Tonights wings where not dry, and where as spicy as the hot wings. When I inquired about the spice, I was informed by a Young gentleman , and from the kitchen that “since I took over thats just how we make them.” “ We dip them, refry them and toss them again. “ I tried to explain no other Jefferson’s make them that hot. He said he would make us fresh one and toss them again! I said no, dont make them more spicy. He said he understood and told us he would drop fresh wing, to send out the way I want them. 5 mins later our server, who had done everything right, asked me what flavor I wanted., bc the kitchen did not understand the order. I canceled the order. I was extremely disappointed bc I have been planning this meal, since Tuesday. It is Saturday. I even skipped eating at Jeffersons in town this week because I knew I was going to go to this location. Even more disappointing I had planned on it being my lunch at work on Sunday! Now I’m stuck looking for a place to eat, and Im i’m familiar with the area because I here when...
Read moreColumbia, TN location: Ordered boneless wings with half honey bbq sauce and half with teriyaki. I ended up with hot spicy bbq sauce on what should have been the honey bbq and all my boneless wings were burned to a crisp. All I could taste was burnt food with sauce the chicken was so dried out that I couldn't even taste that it was chicken. They were not only burned but hard as a rock. This is the second carry out on a Friday night that our food was burnt. We orded sweet potato fries as the side, which were good but there was like twelve little small fries like they just used what was left at the bottom of the bag rather than opening a new one. I think yall need a new cook they are not doing you any favors. I know how good your boneless wings can be and these were flat out discusting and not edible. We spent hard earned money and couldn't eat them. I've been a restaurant manager and that food would not have been allowed to leave the kitchen. I've recommended your restaurant to a lot of people at work because my lunch experiences have been really good but I'm very dissatisfied with your Friday night cook. After two bad experiences I doubt...
