The food here is very, very tasty. The prices shown on their Google menu are certainly outdated, and I sadly didn't get an updated photo. (Rib platter is now $13) The food is most certainly messy! Pretty sure the sauce is NOT keto, so beware when they ask if you want sauce.

Why -2 stars? Customer service. I have difficulty hearing, and understanding folks. Fast mumbling by the young lady ringing me up cost me more than I was intending to pay as I thought the sides (that I didn't want) were included. I couldn't understand what was included in the meal after asking three times, and mentioning that I was having difficulty hearing her (didn't help they had music blaring in their dining area,) and leaning in with my hand cupped around my ear. Her growing frustration with me was obvious, and her willingness to speak clearer or louder was not happening. I just said collards, and Mac after trying to order cole slaw, and being told no, followed by fast mumbling of other side options of which I couldn't understand. I got my receipt, and then saw I paid an extra dollar for each of the two sides that I didn't actually want (but ordered out of my own confusion,) in addition to the meal price.

All in all, I ate the food, and it was very good, but the enjoyment of it was lessened by being treated like I was a difficult and inconvenient customer. Good food? Yes. However, I would warn that it won't necessarily be a...

1st time customer. I was excited to try Niecys soul food but found myself quite disappointed pretty quickly. I love to support Black owned businesses and I had a great appetite for ribs and mac n cheese today. This spot has really good reviews but I'm now so confused. The mac n cheese is so overcooked, making it extremely soft. The cheese....tastes like imitation cheese. And there wasnt even any sharp cheddar in it apparently. It had an interesting taste on top of the very soft texture. The yams were nicely sweetened and decently cooked. Now, the ribs: The meat "should" be tender, juicy and falling off the bone yet it wasn't. Instead they were dry outside of the sauce that I had on the side, and wasn't tender practically at all. I had to pull it with effort from the bone. Lastly, the lemonade is a premix of some sort. I actually hoped for real lemonade which isnt hard to make at all.

I am leaving a review for my husband, I was searching for a new restaurant to try (I wasn't hungry). Saw the pictures and immediately said that this was it! Walked in, examined the bar and was SOLD. Went back to report to my husband what was available and he went in and purchased a plate. At the very 1st bite/ mouthful, I asked what he thought. He couldn't talk from stuffing his face 🥴! Needless to say, the FOOD was SPECTACULAR! It does seem as though she started out nice and with a good attitude, but as time went on (she remained nice) the attitude seemed to change! Given, it is/ was Sunday and I'm sure that she's/ was tired since it appears/ appeared as she cooks/ cooked ALL of what's available.
