New China Royal Restaurant — Restaurant in Columbus

Went to this place for dinner, late in night, around 9 pm. They don’t run any dinner buffet ( don’t know about lunch, but I guess, they don’t have any buffet actually). There were few people ordering / picking food at that time. Usually it was like a to-go counter, in that late in night. However, we were a group of 5, and wanted to dine in. The lady was kind enough to open the dinning area for us. We ordered chicken wings as the starter. The wings were very big in size ( joined pieces). They were cheap, fresh and piping hot, however very very oily. I bet you cannot eat more than one. Next, for the main course, my friends ordered noodles and I ordered Hunan chicken combo plate ( comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll). The worst place to go for good service. I wish I could give it less than a star. I found this place on google, with good reviews. I placed my order at the window with a young man. After placing my order, and repeating it to me. He refused to give me a number or take my name. He told me he would remember me and come back in 30mins. I returned, the young man handed me a bag with a different order. I repeated my order for the 3rd time. He didn't want to listen, so I showed him when I wrote it down. He told me I needed to pay him double the amount he charged me when I placed the order. He told me he is the only one that speaks English there. He will translate it to his dad(manager). His dad snatched the bag back and said something in Chinese. The young man demanded more money and said I would need to wait 30mins. I will not support a rude...

I’ve only been there twice now, but I loved it from the first time I went there.

There was a lot to choose from on the menu, so I was a little overwhelmed, but at least I had options😅.

While I was taking my time figuring out what to order, the woman at the counter was very patient and nice; on my second trip, she even triple-checked to make sure my order was right. The person that handed me the food also seemed very hospitable.

I ordered a single plate of sesame chicken and vegetable fried rice (?) to-go, which was around $10. (I don’t remember the exact order.)

After waiting around 10 minutes (or less?) for the food, I got it, and it was SCALDING hot and the container was full to the brim. Not only that, but the food was absolutely amazing when I tried it🤩.
