Comfrey Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Comfrey

When we were served the owners of the restaurant were there. We ordered and apatitizer, Hamburger steak with American fries was one meal steak tips and mashed potatoes was the other meal And a chicken strip basket. Are service was great but the food was horrible so I asked for the owner to come to my table. She came over there and the waitress and asked how she could help. I told her there was to much pepper on are food and we can't eat it. Most restaurants that you go to would take your plate and remake your food. Because there was only a couple of bites out of the Hamburger steak and the American fries weren't fried they were deep fat fried. Loaded with pepper so bad you couldn't see the white of the potatoes and no onion, witch it did not describe on the menu how they were made. The bread stick was hard like almost burnt. The steak tip meal was so nasty the only thing my significant other could eat was the mashed potatoes. That's right eat. They refused to remake the food and at the end when they gave us are bill there was only 3.60 deducted from are meal...... so we payed 18.00 for mashed potatoes and 16.00 for a side salad and a burger. Then when I asked her about it. She blamed it on the president. I'm sorry but think twice before you go there or be very careful...

We live nearby and wanted to take our house guests out to dinner since there's no restaurant in the tiny town we live in. We arrived and were surprised to see how much Trump decor there was; apparently, that's the entire personality of this place. Not just campaign stuff (for a guy who lost almost a year ago), but signs that say "proud deplorable" and other nonsense. And this was just outside! Our friend went inside to see if maybe by some miracle, all this decor outside wasn't actually for the bar, and she was literally laughed at the second she walked in, by a table of six adult men. Why? Because she was wearing a mask. I grew up in rural MN and South Dakota. It's really, really sad how dark-hearted the region has become.

So, instead, we drove another half hour to Windom, where the absolutely darling River City Eatery took excellent care of us.

If you're a fan of the guy who lost the election, was impeached twice, caused an insurrection, and made sure that our nation lost thousands of lives to an illness that could have been squashed with easy public health campaigns, that's your right. But it's very clear that no one else is welcome...

My salad was all the bitter white innards of the lettuce head. Had to add my own cheese because it didn't have any on it. Small amount of dressing so had to add that. My breaded cauliflower didn't come with cheese dip even though I asked for it. Come on Comfrey this used to be my favorite bar to eat at. My salad cost over $12 and just got the crappy middle of the lettuce. The meals I did order with fries were all just little pieces of fry. This is the 3rd time I haven't been happy but waited to leave a review. Come in here during fall harvest and order out alot of meals but I can't do...
