Chiefs pizza has been here for as long as I can remember a town ca,led penacook N.H. I used to come here with my friends after school and eat a big plate of their french fries. The fries were better then than they are now, but at the end of the day fries are just fries. To be honest about the food here, it isn't that good, the pizza sauce and cheese blend is pretty basic and bland, the crust is awful, and it seems that there is way more grease on the pizza than you'd ever expect! Seriously spare yourself the damage to your body and get a pizza at Sal's. As for the subs available here, those are pretty straight forward and boring as well, though I haven't tried them all, the one's I have had do not resonate in memory, with the exception of one. The "Special Sub" (seriously that's what it's called)! This sub is so goddamn good it actually got me coming back to chiefs just so I could bask in the glory of this savory masterpiece of simplicity! That being said Chiefs Place also offers home style dinner specials that are available with no established schedule. I have had the baked lamb dinner in the owners original recipe sauce, again, the food was bland and even though I am a HUGE fan of lamb dinners (of all varieties) this lamb dinner was a complete disappointment. The roast pork dinner I will not be trying, ever, not for any ridiculous religious or philosophical reasoning, but If you have been reading this long, there is indeed a trend that has developed in my experience with the food here. Now I am sure there are a few wonderful and taste gems on the menu here at chiefs, and I will admit I haven't tried even a full third of that menu. However from what I have tried, fried the clam strips and calamari (don't order that please) to the pizza, to the lamb dinner, Chiefs Place has little to be desired unfortunately. I feel damn near guilty writing this and I'm sure many who love this place will disagree, the owner is a great guy, very friendly, the staff here is amazing and very welcoming. However, the fact that the menu here has never evolved, or been improved on is a real shame. That being said you can be certain that this place will always see me returning for another one of those absolutely delightful...
Read moreMy recent experience: Ordered over the phone, picked up food got home, easy enough. Nope. Food is wrong so I call in the cashier apologizes and said she had my food and she would get the owner to refund me. I weigh my options because its a round trip of half an hour to correct this. But she was trying to fix the issue so okay. I get there, staff kind of stares at me for a minute, the cashier offers me the food that I didn't order (because I brought it back) I say no thanks what am I going to do with two dinners I did not order. I wait for refund... NOPE. Manager pretended I wasn't there, so I was also lied to. Okay fine I take the food. Its a gallon of gas 3 bucks whatever. Get to the car and for minds ease sake check the food, hot food is cold, cold food is warm. Go back in tell her(cashier) she will refund my money, she does. I get to the car where the receipt was count the refund. It was a dollar short but really, if she couldn't read well enough to give me the correct food I cant really expect her to count either. I cut my losses.
Honestly this used to be a decent place to eat though like another reviewer recently the food has gone down hill and well, there is obviously 0...
Read moreChiefs is a great family owned restaurant and most employees have been there a long time so they treat their staff good from what I here . They are closed Sunday which is a bummer lol for some reason Sunday is the day i always think about going. They also i beleive close for a week here and there for holidays and employees get a nice paid vacation. It really is one of my favorite places to get food the staff is always great and its always a freindly environment. I've never had a bad experience there. I love their chicken finger subs sooo good and their steak tips are amazing. They also have amazing specials on dinners. You can get such great food for less than you would pay at McDonald's. I could go on forever about this place it's my favorite restaurant bye far in the Concord area the food is amazing I could go on forever. One more thing baked potatoes at other places I never really been impressed but at chiefs I could eat those things all day long you really can go wrong with chiefs it's a great place to eat I highly...
