The ability to order online was great but it was very disappointing that you couldn't change the sides which my family and I only discovered after we opened up our food containers. After going back and reviewing the website it was posted but not made clear what the sides of the day were without having to visit Facebook to check on them. The website had a notes section that I believed was where you posted what sides you wanted but never received a call from the business to let me know that those choices were impossible and try to remedy the situation. I understand that from the business perspective that it helps keep costs down by only producing what you plan to sell, but from a customer's point of view I had no interest is 2/3 of the sides made available for the daily sides and didn't want the business to dictate when I had a hankering for BBQ. The prices are a bit high for the portion sizes that were given. 6 oz of brisket in the 'meat and 3 sides', 3 small pieces of fried chicken in the meal, and half a rack of ribs in that meal. I've been to several other BBQ places and these seemed small compared to the other places I've been. The food quality was not impressive either. The pasta salad was dry, the noodles were not moist. The ribs were burnt and dry, with little to no flavor. The brisket had almost as much fat as meat. The only saving graces to the meal were the flavor of the fried chicken and the corn bread. Overall it was a letdown and even though it's further for us I'll be taking my business to the Smoke...
Read moreWhen my dad died recently and we began to make plans for a gathering after the funeral there was no doubt in my mind who I would want to cater it. The only potential problem was that it was taking place 85 miles north of Concord. Thankfully this was not a problem for Alan! He had the cold food ready the day before for one person to drive it up and the hot food ready early the next morning for another person to transport. Alan didn't just provide great food, he offered good advice, heartfelt sentiments and always a good story! The menu: bbq chicken, brisket, corn bread, garden patch pasta salad, green salad and chocolate pudding. All of the food was excellent and received rave reviews. The chicken was a crowd favorite and people were swooning over the chocolate pudding. The green salad was insane. In addition to greens it had grilled corn, perfectly cut orange peppers, grated carrots, kalamata olives and more and came with a delicious house made creamy parmesan dressing. The crowd turned out to be smaller than the 50 people we planned for but nobody was sad about having lots of food leftover...
Read moreWe have been looking for good bbq since we moved back to NH. Unfortunately we were disapointed. I know everyones taste buds are different but for the price we paid it kinda stunk to not like it very much. So this serves more as an idea for others than a frown on the establishment. The brisket pieces we had were fatty and the sauce was more of an A1 flavor. The cornbread was very dry with salt on the top which we have never had. The coleslaw was lightly dressed and is good if you like the taste of cabbage. If you normally pour a lot of the dressing on it then you might not like it. The pulled pork was flavorless and seemed just to be pork on a sadwhich and then sauce poured ontop. The potatoe salad was okay. It is sliced and the potatoes seem blanched so they have a crunch rather than the normal potato salad people think of. We did not recieve the pasta salad we order either. We are fed so we didnt call and ask for money back but we probably wont pick this in the future because of the price and our taste buds. Good luck to the business as it seems like many...
