Ma-Sar-ick-town. We've all heard some doozies on how to pronounce it. This is the best phonetic I can get it. I wish I had a Czech Koruna for all the years we've driven right PAST this PLACE! (1 US Dollar equals roughly 24 Czech Koruna).. It always beckoned us. Oddly, we never beckoned back. LOL Until NOW.......!!!!!!!!! The oddity of the name runs over and into this Cafe. It's a curious place, of Czech heritage, that is known for a muy bueno Cuban Sandwich! Guess one could call it Cubaslovakian food? Upon our arrival, we were escorted through the 'Fireplace Room' to be seated in the 'South Room'. At Table #4, to be precise. We were 'tended to' promptly with a warm welcome and a drink/app order. Maria took over as I inquired of her, "Just HOW do YOU say the name of this place?" (Just hoping to hear MY version to be authenic! LOL) I got it right! I've been saying it right ALL these years. Okay, another Bucket List item checked off! Now comes the 'interactive' part of my review. I'll give you 8 seconds to guess what we ordered! 8 seconds is the length of a rodeo bull ride. IF those bull riders can hang on for that, ya'll can too! Got it? OR, give up? WE, as in My Fav Fab One & I ordered.....drumroll.......Cuban sandwiches! (What the heck did ya think we were going to get? geezz LOL) We both ordered the Regular Cuban Combo. That's a 7 inch Cuban and a choice of salad, soup or fries. Fab One got a cup of the garbanzo bean soup. I got a cup of the collard green soup. Both were incredibly full of flavor. An absolute joy to sop up with a bit of Cuban bread. I'd say it's safe to say most of us have eaten quite a few Cuban sandwiches in our day. In all kinds of different towns & settings. You'll likely know there can be quite a variety of the complexity between the bread and the bread itself. And that is part of the overall joy of one's eat to destroy Cuban sandwich mission. Cafe Masaryktown did not disappoint! The flavors were on point. The bread with that nice firm crunch that yields to the harmony of the ham. What an enjoyable interpretation of this venerable pressed slab o' bread. To be quite frank. Or surely. No, don't call me surely. To be quite frank, we could drop in anytime JUST to enjoy those soups again! A potent pot of plentiful pizzazz they stir up. Yummmmm But we can't wait to try more of their creative cooking. In closing, I'm now at that phase of, you know, kicking myself for NOT stopping in SOONER!!! Like, many years sooner! Tell them John & Beth sent ya!

Let's step back in history. Yes, this place is 99 years old. And still standing, of course, it has been many things in the last 100 years, but the Cafe Masaryktown is now one of the finest Cuban Restaurants in the Bay area. When you walk in, you get a warm feeling and look forward to the adventure. My wife, daughter, and I took a rainy day drive their to get out of the house. And boy, are we glad we did. The food is absolutely delicious, and so are the desserts. But if you are in a hurry, forget it everything is made fresh to order, we both tried the Cubans, fries, planton, and green beans, and our daughter ordered the chicken nuggets. The Cubans are the best I have eaten in a long time, and I have had them at all of the best places in the bay, hands down they are the clear winners. Everything else was absolutely perfect, including the desserts. And I forgot to mention when we first sat down with our drink order they also brought us Hot pressed Cuban bread OMG it was off the chart, the service was excellent. So what are you waiting for? Get in your car and go !!!!

We didn't know what to expect here since we have never had any Cuban food. The yelp reviews looked good so we gave it a try. Glad we did as the food here is excellent. I ordered the roast pork which is their signature dish. Ordered fried Yuca and a side salad. Also came with fried Plantanos. The pork was so tender I cut it with a fork. My wife got the Bassa fish. It was lightly breaded and fried. It was flaky white, very mild and delicious. Sides were black bean soup and side salad. We also got a large basket of Cuban bread which was hot, buttered and delicious. The server was very good and delivered our food with a smile. This was our first experience with Cuban food and we were delighted. Can't wait to return

I have eaten at this establishment several times. Every time the food has been wonderful. There has been a couple times our Togo orders weren't correct but it was not a big deal, they had a credit for the salad that was missing for the next time we ordered. HOWEVER TODAY.......I called in our order, they had what my mother and Intern wanted for lunch great! I wanted the breaded steak, they didn't have it. So I placed the order for the other two anyways. I called back a few min. Later to add my order after I found something different. I specifically ordered Yuca and soup. I picked up our order brought it to our office 37 min. Away and realized I didn't get my soup. When I called to let them know I was given the wrong side I had a lady argue with me that I was wrong. I then decided this was not worth the hassle. After I hung up the woman called my place of business 3 times! Once we answered the phone we were told that I wasn't charged for my lunch. I was with a client so I could not take the call. Now here we are almost 4pm....4 hours later they are going to call my office AGAIN and tell me that I was wrong and they know what I ordered and that I owe them for the meal. I was beside myself!! I told them I know what I ordered because the side that I was given I am not able to eat for medical reasons. #1 you messed up my order #2 arguing and harrasing a customer is just unbelievable and finally #3 you didn't charge me for the order that you messed up and that's not my fault!!!! But to call a customer's business over a problem you caused and over a 11$...

Today (10/15/2025) I had the distinct pleasure and honor of having lunch here today. I live two hours away and had business in the Tampa area (Wesley Chapel) and saw an influencer's post of Cafe Masaryktown and decided to give it a try. Boy... this restaurant did not disappoint one iota! Everything from entering to leaving was simply magnificent. The friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable staff, the service, wait time, quality of food, the portions, temperature of the food, price point was nothing short of phenomenal (we spent a tad over $60.00 but we did order a few thins to go and try before the meal like the yummy yuca fries, a half Cuban sandwich and a cup of Caldo Gallego soup- all delicious). I want to highlight my hostess (she was more than just a server) Lianet... Thank you for making my wife and I feel like we were amongst family and friends rather than just another customer. You answered our questions, everything we ordered was perfect, you gave great recommendations, made sure our drink cups were full (a rarity these days) engaged in conversation with us and made our experience delightful and memorable. Thank you Cafe Masaryktown, for proving to us that there IS a place out there where a flawless, memorable and pleasant dining experience IS possible. We shall recommend you to our circle of family and friends and return in the very near future. We were really blown away by this brilliant experience and we can only thank Cafe Masaryktown...
