El Torito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

South Williamson is quite a ways from my normal haunts but I was traveling with my son to a sporting contest in the area. During the intermission we just Googled area resturants and my son chose El Torito. Most of these type places are hit or miss but this one is definitely a hit!! Service was very good. We were met promptly and seated. Our server was timely meeting all of the expected stops at the appropriate moment. The chips were fresh and tasty as was the salsa. The tea was boxed - not a fan but not a dealbreaker. My son had a fajita chicken taco salad. I thought he was going to eat the plate! I had a fried chimichanga and it was excellent. The food was all well spiced and seasoned, came out promptly and at the appropriate serving temperature. The prices were very reasonable if not down right modest. I would have expected to have paid $5-$8 more than the total bill. Highly recommend if you're in the area and would make a good destination if you wanted...

I ordered a steak burrito I received a tortilla full of beef on a plate that was microwaved hot covered in some kind of watered down white sauce rice and some extremely watered downed refried beans and a side plate of lettuce a 1/2 slice of tomato a dollop of sour ( probably because they would not microwave very well ) I've eaten burritos all my life from Mexico to Texas to Chicago and a lot of Mexican restaurants in-between this definitely was not a burrito

My advice to the owners is 1) take away the salt shaker from the cook everything was salty as hell

2. send somebody who can go back to Mexico and get back across to learn how to make Mexican food

3). BURN THE DUMP COOK BOOK your using

Ah, finally some decent Mexican food in this town! I'm a transplant here from out of state and got very spoiled with good, authentic Mexican food back home. I was very disappointed upon moving here with the Mexican food options until I tried this place! This is as close as you'll get to the real deal and the food is delicious! I asked for hot salsa and boy did I get HOT salsa 🥵. I just keep the queso off everything, add enchilada sauce to my enchiladas and I'm in heaven!...
