My sister & I were out house hunting for me & realized we had missed lunch & were hungry. I looked on Google for top rated restaurants & Green Tomato Grill popped up. We drove the 15 minutes & arrived well after the lunch rush. My first thought on entering was that it was kind of dark inside. We were seated promptly & the menu had a great variety of options. Of course we had to try the fried green tomatoes. They are worthy of the hype! The tomatoes looked gorgeous when they arrived at the table - completely uniform in thickness & color. The actual tomatoes were firm & tasty & the breading was well seasoned & remained adhered to the tomatoes rather than separating or crumbling off when I cut them. I opted for the pot roast sandwich. It was served open faced with brown gravy & the pot roast was quite tender. For the side, I selected potato salad. It was different. I didn't care for it at first, but I took it home with me & gave it another try before I put the container in the fridge & at room temperature, it was actually delicious - basically a German potato salad. My sister had sent her husband a picture of the fried green tomatoes when they arrived at our table & when he came in from work that evening & she asked where he wanted to go for dinner, he said he wanted those fried green tomatoes so we loaded up & went back for dinner. We ended up with the same server we had at lunch and she was so much better at dinner when she was constantly busy. At lunch, when my sister had requested mayo for her sandwich & took off the top bun in anticipation of adding mayo, our server stopped to finish a conversation with another employee before going to get the mayo while my sister's sandwich got cold. I was disappointed when she said she was going to be our server again, but with the dinner rush going on, she had no time for socializing & was a good server. I chose the chicken & dumplings with collard greens & baked yellow squash. The chicken & dumplings was a bit short on chicken! I only had 2 small pieces in my whole bowl. The dumplings themselves were light & disintegrated before they could be chewed. Alone, they had next to no flavor, but in the dish, they were tasty. The greens were plain - seriously plain! I tried one bite & decided they would go home with me for some serious help in the flavor department!!! The baked yellow squash blew my socks off! It was hands down my favorite thing!! It was cooked so a few were firm & the reminder were bordering on mushy. The taste was the real winner! They were sweet, buttery deliciousness!!! If we're in the area again, I'm sure my sister & I will return for...

When we first arrived we got seated immediately(depends on how packed) there were a lot of people there but the waitress was ready to take our order immediately we told her are drinks but asked for some extra time to look over the menu and she was completely fine with it. It didn't take that long for her to come back it was maybe about every 7-8 minutes she would check on us. The food was astonishing I got the Jumbo Shrimp and I loved it. The best shrimp I have ever had it was grilled fleshly seasoned shrimp and it tasted like heaven. My grandfather ordered the ribs and he said they were excellent but not better than Texas road house so not much to say about that. My mammaw order the catfish and she said the catfish was excellent and her 2 sides Mac and cheese and potato was really good. She said it was the best Mac and cheese she had ever had. The baked potato needed more butter but it did taste really good I also loved it. We got an appetizer before our food and it was the cheesy sticks. They were the best I had very had in my life and I usually don't like mozzarella sticks. I definitely recommend them. The bill wasn't that high for everything we ordered especially with the price inflation going on. It was only $72 for 3 of us. If we hadn't got the appetizer it would have been 60 like a typical small restaurant. I also got the Lava cake it was the best lava cake I have ever had it melted in your mouth as you ate it with the ice cream and I would recommend it as your dessert. Overall this restaurant is now my favorite 10/10 if you want to go to restaurant with your loved ones or by yourself you should definitely go here I believe you...

We were disappointed they were closed. They're not open on Sundays. It was Wednesday mid-afternoon so we thought we'd have an early dinner. One of the house specialties is Tennessee Mater's. What I would refer to as a green tomato they refer to as green Mater's. They were fried to perfection and delicious served with a sauce, I detected just a small amount of mustard in the sauce perfect compliment to the Mater's. They have a menu containing homemade chicken pot pie, chicken and dumplings, fried catfish, something to suit everyone's taste. My dinner partner and I decided on the Burger with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and bacon. It comes dressed with red onion, shredded lettuce, tomato and a house dressing served on an onion roll, and your choice of a side. I opted for French fries my dinner companion for sweet potato fries. The fries are cooked fresh and hand-cut. The burger is a half pound. They cook it well done unless you request it prepared differently. It was so worth the trip. Needless to say half of the meal came home, this is a recommended choice for anyone with a healthy appetite. Our choice of Beverage was sweet tea and was very enjoyable. Our server very attentive in true Southern hospitality. I highly recommended! Till next time...
