Hamaknockers BBQ — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

I eat at bbq places about once a week and someone requested this place for their birthday that had 8 guests. The prices are quite high and the bbq in my opinion had no flavor, was very dry, and was charred black. The "dry rub" ribs were so dry I think they took the previous days ribs and reheated in microwave, the chicken wings had hardly any flavor, by the way i don't like bbq sauce, I prefer good dry rubs. We ordered 4 "extra large" sides, but I could have eaten a whole side myself. And these 4 little sides were $30!, yes that's right about $7 for a small cup of macaroni! We had to go back and get 4 more sides just to be enough for 8 people. So yes $60 for enough sides to feed 8. And they put chili powder and oregano in the mac n cheese!! who does that? Totally messed up the flavor and we ended up throwing all the mac away. In my opinion unless you have no other options do not ever go here. We paid $200 for 8 people and everyone complained. #1 bbq in my opinion is Four Rivers in tallahassee which would have been cheaper and better food. Really Great place that emulates what you would imagine a hidden gem bbq place to be. The prices are completely affordable and the servings are what they should be, and not the amount that a newborn would eat. The brisket was amazingly done correctly. Brisket is something that most bbq places screws up badly. Texas is the gold standard for brisket. In Texas, you get a chunk of meat that comes apart easy, plenty of fat spots, and a awesome brisket taste. Some places in Texas can't even get it right. This restuarant got it perfect. The large salad was large and fresh. I ordered the salad with a serving of pulled pork to add to the salad. I must admit that I was very pleased with the salad. Most restuarants will give you the meat upgrade at the level that you have to search to find. This restuarant served the salad with a nice size cup full of awesome pulled pork. This small place has learned what customers like, and they avoid those small things that irritates us the most. It's a must stop for anyone traveling by. We've been there before so we took guest from out of town there for dinner since we liked liked it until last night. Salads came out & they were great than the 3 out of 4 people that had salad had just started eating them, the waitress brought out dinner. There was no place on the table to put it, plus it would've gotten cold sitting there while they ate the salad. My husband ask for dinner to be taken back & be brought out when they were done with their salads. Since I didn't have a salad, I was given my dinner. I got the pulled pork plate, my meat was cold & the margarine wouldn't melt in the baked potato it was cold. I told the waitress when she came to the table , she said " What do you want me to do about it". I told her I wanted hot food that the butter would melt in.
