The drive to Imnaha from Joseph is very beautiful and the general store is unpretentious and authentic. The sweet lady storekeeper encouraged us to drive up to the Hatpoint lookout (22 miles), saying we should at least go to the first lookout (the five mile point). She assured us the road was good and said “no one has gone to there today so you won’t encounter anyone else on the road”! Well, that was not the truth - we found out there were plenty of other vehicles on the very steep and tight road! I was in tears before we ever reached five mile lookout. But my hubby is a pro at driving these kinds of roads thanks to his career in forest service. So he assured me that the road was going to mellow out from that point onward so we continued on the way to hat point and I was glad we did. It really is awesome, especially the view out to seven devils. The drive back down was good except for the last five miles, you need to drop to first gear so you don’t burn up your brakes. Oh, but this review is about the store, right!! Well, it’s awesome and they have plenty of snacks and drinks for your journey so do still here in your adventures in the area.

Food was decent. I did not care for the anti- wolf and anti-wildlife theme. Felt like I went back in time to the 1800s but not in a good way. They have bounties for snakes. These people still believe predators are the enemy. They don’t understand ecosystem, apex predators or balance. They want every predator dead and promote poaching. I think they forgot these animals are on Americas Public lands that belong to all of us. I was out there to see wildlife, and will not spend another dime there. Ignorance and lack of education at its finest!

Little store that has is all. Store, restaurant, beer, ice cream freezer and friendly service. Clean and cool place to take a break and relax along your journey and inquire about local road conditions. Fun atmosphere and decor. Some local wildlife on display as well.

Not a good experience from the minute I walked in, no greeting whatsoever, sat down at a table and after at least five minutes, got up, went up to the counter and got a menu and said I guess I need to order up here? The lady who was working, was working on totaling some tabs or something, no customers around…and was oblivious. Pretty much the same thing happened after a family came in and sat near me, she didn’t even attempt to take their order for probably 15 minutes. Without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, and that’s not typical for a small town spot like this! Not sure how people are giving such high ratings…I’m not real picky, but had to put...
