I first went to Monte Ne Inn Chicken when I moved back from LA about 6 years ago. I gorged myself on fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, skipped the coleslaw, homemade bread, and their "this is the best thing I've had in my mouth in quite awhile" apple butter. I kid you not, I ate it straight out of the pot with a spoon for dessert (oh, nice segue, drinks and dessert are not included in the price. That was a bummer). Think of Cracker Barrel without the store and throw in all you can eat, and you have this lovely little restaurant that you might have to trek to get out there, but it's worth it. No, really. The only bit of a downside is that the very friendly wait staff often works on much larger tables (guests of 6+) so our little 2 seater was often overlooked. We sat, sad and hungry looking, with empty bowls of potatoes and chicken, just waiting to be noticed and get our seconds (and thirds, and fourths, and... you get it). And often new food was put on top of what was left in the bowls which, at the end of the meal, wasn't the tastiest as the remaining chicken pieces were cold and soggy with grease. My other tiny slight is that I asked for white meat (which costs more. Just sayin') and was never given a good piece of white meat, like a breast piece. Instead, I was pecking away at a tiny wing. Because we did not see our server often, I only had about 2-3 wings (which had very little white meat, considering) and was still a bit hungry, but didn't want to wait another 10 minutes to flag someone down and then wait even more for our bowl to be refilled. sigh Unfortunately, on this trip, I wasn't left with the best impression. However, I am more than willing to give it another go because the restaurant is quaint, the staff is lovely, and the food is delicious. My biggest advice is this: get a reservation. I once showed up and was turned away because I didn't have one. Thankfully, this past week when we went, the hostess was kind and gracious and worked us in. This is not the norm! I repeat, get a reservation! There is nothing more harrowing then showing up with a rumbly in your tumbly that only sweet and delicious, good ol' fried chicken can satiate and being turned away with a literal "there is no room for you at the Inn". As a marketer, I implore you Monte Ne Inn, please advertise. I love your restaurant and, because I never see it advertised anywhere, it simply fell off my radar. And I know I'm not the only one. In fact, the only reason you got on my radar was because I saw a billboard for fried chicken at Cracker Barrel. After about 2 weeks of not making it to get that down home chicken fix, it dawned on me that, wait a minute! I went to a place when I first moved back that had fried chicken! Aaaaand it was really really good! What was the name of it... wait, wasn't it far out or something? A short Google search later and, BAM!, on the radar. I would recommend a mix of traditional (especially for your older diners) and digital media. Hopefully I'll make it out there before another...
Read moreMonte Ne Inn Chicken is truly a Classic Southern Comfort Food Experience!
We decided to make a long weekend road trip to Arkansas. A family member highly suggested for us to try Monte Ne Inn Chicken. If you're looking for a taste of true authentic Southern comfort food with a generous portion size, this restaurant is a must-visit. This family-owned establishment boasts a warm, down-home atmosphere, with friendly service and a menu centered around their famous fried chicken. Highlights: Chicken Perfection: The star of the show is undeniably the fried chicken. The crispy, golden-brown skin gives way to juicy, flavorful meat, cooked to perfection. Whether you opt for a half or whole bird, you won't be disappointed. Sides Galore: The sides are just as impressive, with classic Southern options like mashed potatoes with gravy, creamy coleslaw, buttery green beans, and fluffy biscuits. Generous Portions: Be prepared for large portions, perfect for sharing with family or taking leftovers home. Charming Ambiance: The restaurant has a rustic, vintage feel with antique décor and photos that transport you back in time. Local Favorite: A true community staple, Monte Ne Inn Chicken is often packed with locals and visitors alike, so reservations are recommended. Things to Consider: Wait Times: We were lucky and were able to sneak in without a reservation. As we were told, due to its popularity, there can sometimes be a wait during peak hours. Limited Menu: While the chicken is phenomenal, the menu isn't extensive, so if you're looking for a wide variety of options, this may not be the place. However, this did not deter us as we polished off several large bowls of chicken. Overall, Monte Ne Inn Chicken provides a delightful and authentic Southern dining experience with exceptional fried chicken and generous portions. If you're in the Rogers or Bentonville area, make sure to add this to your...
Read moreWe eat here every year on my in-laws birthday. The place is always packed to capacity with almost no room to move around, and the walkways between tables are uncomfortably packed. That is in and of itself a major drawback as it can be quite loud and chaotic with so many people packed into such a small place and over a dozen employees sprinting around the place at 100mph. I've been quite impressed with the wait staff's promptness of service and ability to get everything correct, even when 5 people in my party ask for something different and the same happens at the several tables nearby and somehow they manage to do it well and without any mistakes. I've been year after year for almost a decade now and it's never not been this way. Anyway, the food. It's always sort of bland. Dont expect the fried chicken to be as flavorful as something like KFC or one of the other dozen popular fried chicken places around but that doesn't mean its not good food overall! They serve a limited and very southern meal. Some kind of bean soup and a bread loaf at the beginning while you wait for the main stuff. They will then bring out friend chicken, Mashed Potatoes, corn, green beans, gravy, and I believe cole slaw. All the food is delicious if slightly bland. I would wager a guess from the majority of the customers that it tends to be frequented by older generations and as such the food isn't as spice filled. I quite enjoy their food and my only real complaint is how packed the place always is. The chicken not being over seasoned actually plays out nice as you can just...
