Nestled away from the usual tourist spots, we stumbled upon Paradise Grill during our recent beach vacation, and it turned out to be a delightful discovery! Located right on the bayfront, this kid-friendly restaurant offers a beautiful view that will leave you in awe.
One of the first things that caught our attention was the expansive outdoor seating area. With plenty of space for families to enjoy their meals while soaking up the sun, it provided the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
Speaking of families, the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the fantastic playground available for kids. Our 6-year-old had a blast, and it allowed us to enjoy our meal in peace, knowing that our little one was having a great time.
The moment we stepped inside, we were transported to the tropical paradise of Key West. The vibrant decor, coupled with the charming tiki bar, created a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complemented our beach vacation.
Now, let's talk about the food! Paradise Grill boasts a mouthwatering selection of seafood delicacies that will satisfy even the most discerning palates. We started our culinary journey with a plate of raw oysters, and they were nothing short of amazing. The freshness and quality were evident in each bite, and the fact that they offer seven different types of oysters only added to the excitement.
In addition to the oysters, we couldn't resist sampling the shrimps, mussels, and crispy calamari. Each dish was cooked to perfection, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs at Paradise Grill. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous, ensuring that we left with satisfied appetites.
To complete our dining experience, we indulged in some refreshing drinks from the tiki bar. The bartenders crafted delicious concoctions that perfectly complemented the tropical ambiance, leaving us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
All in all, Paradise Grill is a true hidden gem for families and seafood lovers alike. With its stunning bayfront location, kid-friendly facilities, and delectable menu options, it's the ideal spot to enjoy a positive, kid-friendly dining experience. So, if you're seeking a beautiful view, a huge selection of seafood, and a touch of the Florida Key West tropical island vibe, look no further than...
Read moreI’m going to start this review by getting the flaws out of the way first. First of all, whoever plays the music at the beach bar over the loudspeakers needs to go. No one is interested in listening to Hall & Oats “You Make My Dreams” and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” along with their entire albums on full-blast before the bands begin. In fact, it completely kills the whole experience. This is the 21st century we are currently living in; not 1980… Please stop…
Second, the bands are frequently 45+ mins late. There should be a disclaimer or an announcement on the PA system whenever this occurs (with an ETA) as the schedule is very specific on the facebook page. This has happened more than once.
Okay, now for the good stuff. So many wonderful things to say about Paradise Grill. Where to begin? The Palm Trees? I don’t know how they do it, but there are palm trees galore all over the restaurant with coconuts sticking out!! Amazing. Big round of applause to the production designer. The flounder fish sandwich and Nashville hot chicken tenders are delicious (served with way too many fries, but you’re getting your $ worth). Skip the nachos - the queso was served cold and there were not enough toppings. The beach bars are right out in the sand near the restaurant BEACHES with chairs to watch the sunsets!! Where the hell am I?? Los Angeles?? Clearwater??
The staff are very friendly. The bartenders work very hard and into the night while the bands play. There is also a play area where the kids can play as well as an ice cream shop, gift shop and marina where you can watch the boats pass by. I found it quite interesting that the friendliest of the bunch were the staff driving the shuttle buses from the parking area to the restaurant. If they see you pulling up, they will stop and wave you down so you’re not waiting too long. What wonderful people!!
I love Paradise Grill and can’t wait to return. It’s an unmissable environment you’d have to see to believe if you’re ever in Southern Delaware. The atmosphere is unbeatable as you would never expect a place like this to be in Millsboro, DE - which, in effect makes the so-so town...
Read moreWe live across the bay from Paradise Grill in Bay Colony, and have had wonderful experiences there except for today's visit. I would consider us regular customers. Today, we sat at the bar in the Raw Bar section. While my wife went and ordered food from the raw bar for us, I attempted to order drinks for us from two very inattentive female bartenders. It became comical, then quite irritating and continued throughout our entire time there, including trying to order a second drink. Never did get napkins, utensils or menus, and simply helped ourselves. Other customers sitting at the bar got their attention as did anyone else walking up to the bar. One of the bartender's came ever so close to redeeming herself but, in the end, didn't. The other bartender in a red tank top was beyond inattentive yet, oddly, also with a somewhat self-important, dismissive demeanor. Made no sense at all. Both my wife and I were dumbfounded by the lack of attention, which even continued when the bar was 75% empty. I can only assume that the bartenders are either independently wealthy or related to the owners because they were clearly unaware that service impacts tips, or simply dim. There appeared to be a great deal of familiarity between these two bartenders and the other customers, which did not include the two of us. We are regular customers, like I said above, and will attempt to avoid these two quite sub-par bartenders in subsequent visits.
P.S. I am a generous tipper, at times to a fault. Not tonight. I hope these two were able to make the correlation between their poor service and my tip, and, upon reflection, seek to do better in the future.
P.P.S. We had Rehoboth Bay Oysters, 1/2 lb of fresh steamed shrimp (seasoning excellent), shared a flounder sandwich and 4 cocktails. The food was excellent!
P.P.P.S. We will normally try to sit at the Lagoon Bar there where the service has always been consistently outstanding. Service at the Raw Bar,...
