I wanted to love this restaurant. I mean I really, really wanted to love it. It's in a great location, convenient for me to call ahead and pick up an order that is still hot when I get home, which is a real feat in Fancy Gap which only has three restaurants. My deal-breaker issues were the BLT, which was, in all honesty, the worst sandwich I've ever purchased anywhere. I ordered four of them sight unseen. First, they were on a sub roll. Ok, but if that's the chosen bread, there has to be enough B, L and T to fill it up. There wasn't really enough to make a regular BLT--three sliced in half THIN tomato slices, a little shredded lettuce and the kicker: TWO slices of not even real bacon. I assume it was turkey "bacon", I really don't know. All this bounty was barely held together with a little bit of cheap mayo. I don't have a problem with off brand mayo at a restaurant, as long as it doesn't taste cheap. This does. On top of everything else, all four sandwiches were bone dry. Not a single one of us finished the whole thing, and we were hungry! Next time, I figured I'd try them out for pizza which HAD to be good because I had heard the owner of PitStop is/was part owner of Pizza Perfect in Hillsville. We ordered a large pepperoni with double pepperoni, which I was charged for. There was enough pepperoni for a REGULAR pepperoni, certainly not a double **see picture. The couple of burgers I've ordered were pretty good, but a little dry, they offer crinkle cut diner fries which are GREAT when dining in, but carry out is put into styrofoam which makes them stale and awful. Another win is the mushroom appetizer. A small styrofoam container packed FULL of breaded fried mushrooms served with really thick creamy ranch dressing--thick enough to be ranch dip instead of dressing :) There are probably enough mushrooms in an order to be a complete meal if you aren't starving to death. Sorry for the length of this review--I wanted to cover all the bases. Honestly I'll probably give Pit Stop another chance, but I'll have to make certain I know exactly what I'm going to get because another fail and we are d.o.n.e. done!

*****100% Recommend a Pit Stop Here for Pizza, Pasta, Salads, & Wings*Friendly welcome walking through the doors; Charity, our waitress was attentive throughout the dining experience including drinks immediately, refills, check on us, & kind send off; Delicious Food with generous portions: 1) fresh, melt in your mouth garlic knots with cheese dipped in homemade marinara sauce, 2) fresh garden salad with homemade ranch dressing, 3) homemade alfredo sauce on the fettuccine Carbonara add chicken and mushrooms, and 4) chicken parmigiana add mushrooms with melted mozzarella (homemade marinara tasty; used 3 frozen chicken strips, so I would not get it again.); Observed other items including calzone, pizza, and wings that looked delicious too; 100% Recommend a Pit Stop Here * We hope to return the next time around. See you in a year. šŸ˜‹ Deliciousness šŸ˜€ Thanks to all the staff who made our dinner away from home delicious! šŸ˜€

We ordered our pizza in advance and it said 30 min. We showed up 30 min later and the pizza was ā€œjust coming out of the ovenā€. 10 min later it came out. It was barely cut through and we had to use a plastic knife to finish cutting it. The pizza crust was so thin everything slid off the pizza when we tried to pick it up the topping fell off into the box. One of the pieces had pretty much no crust under the middle part at all. ( we ordered a 4 cheese pizza with chicken added on). The taste over all was good but was not able to be eat like a piece of pizza until near the thicker outside crust. The place inside was fun with lots of license plates from all over. We ate outside as it was a nice night. Because we ordered ahead I can’t say anything about the waitstaff except that one of the girls told us it was coming out if the oven and then handed us our pizza. Overall I wouldn’t eat here again if in the area.

I am usually not one to leave a review, much less a bad one. After the unprofessional service and rudeness of one of your waitresses, I felt the need to leave a disappointing review. I have been a loyal customer in your restaurant for the last several years. I eat here 1-2 times a week. I’m all about supporting local businesses. I also believe waitresses work hard and do not get the pay they deserve. Therefore, I always make sure to leave a good tip, no matter where I dine, and the majority of the time, I tip on to go orders, as well. Recently, every time I dine in, the wait is rather lengthy. Because of this, I choose to get my food to go. Yesterday I had a waitress tell me ā€œy’all don’t leave tips on to go ordersā€ ā€œcan’t make a living off of to go ordersā€ as I was getting my food. I wasn’t sure her point in saying that to me, as I tip 80% of the time on to go orders. I felt this was very unprofessional, considering I spend a lot of my money at your locally owned restaurant and eat here routinely. Some days I am welcomed politely by staff and other days, I’m ignored. This is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but a big enough deal for me and others to take our money elsewhere. I don’t want to do that because I enjoy your restaurant and the food and atmosphere it used to provide. I understand people have a bad day, but the continuous rudeness from your staff needs to...

This is not a greasy spoon restaurant regardless how it might look from the outside to the uninitiated. This is a restaurant I wish was down the road from us in Durham. I was here last fall with my sister while staying at a cabin rental about 10 minutes away and returned today with my husband. We’re both from PA and we know good Italian food. The Pit Stop serves fantastic, authentic Italian food in addition to great burgers and the crispiest fries. Delicious, crisp Italian garlic bread with real butter. Delicious green salad with romaine, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumber slices and sweet red onion, all fresh and crisp with a wonderful homemade honey mustard dressing on the side. In addition to the excellent menu, something for everyone, the staff greets you as you come in the door and our waitress, Emily, was as sweet as she was efficient. Saw my husband’s VFW cap and thanked him for his service. Every exit off an interstate should have a Pit Stop where folks can be treated with kindness and can be assured of getting a good meal. We hope to return next time we’re...
