My friends and I really enjoyed our Sunday brunch. I would say this is one of the better restaurants in the greater Flathead Valley. The menu has a unique twist on a lot of brunch favorites and that uniqueness sets it apart not just from the rest of Flathead Valley but dining in general. Each meal was prepared with excellency and very filling. Their hot honey put the chicken and waffles above its game. The croissant and million dollar bacon that came with the eggs Benedict was not anything I expected it to be, very flavorful and one of the better eggs Benedict I’ve eaten. The brunch charcuterie board was a unique and tasty addition. The steak Frites was cooked perfectly and the cut of meat was tender, flavorful, and prepared nicely. The people who work there are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They ran out of cinnamon rolls but were able to make a churro dish to match as a substitute which we enjoyed. We also saw the dinner menu and that as well looked like it had some great options with a unique twist. We will probably come back for that.

Good food, definitely " casual fine dining". The atmosphere is not too snooty and is family friendly. We took our 1 year old and the high chair was clean and good quality. It was not even half occupied when we arrived one late morning. Friendly patrons and even friendlier servers. Shout out to Bradley, our server, who was helping out multiple tables with the assistance of only one other server. My husband, our baby, and I shared a cup of the soup du jour (not pictured), which was an Indian-inspired soup. It was delicious and aromatic. The cup was also more generous than I expected. We also shared the Spinach Artichoke Dip with Naan. It was creamy, cheesy, ooey, gooey, and definitely something we could make at home. It was surprisingly not bland! It was absolutely delicious. However, there were some tough artichoke skins that I had to spit out. I would definitely go here again, but only for drinks and maybe share another appetizer. Their after dinner drinks and specialty cocktails stood out to me on the menu.

We did an early dining option with our two little ones and had a great seat next to the window with a view of the golf course. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and calamari appetizer. We had the Ceasar salad and the three mushroom soup. Both were fresh, and the soup was very flavorful but could have been a bit warmer, and the ceasar salad had bits of blue cheese mixed with the parmesan cheese that was a turn off. The fresh garden salad with huckleberry vinaigrette was absolutely the best option from their soups and salads section. The dressing and fresh salad complemented the whole meal. For the main course we ordered, the pan roasted Alaskan halibut and the king salmon. Both fishes were cooked perfectly and had an excellent fresh taste. We loved the main courses and wish we could have tried some desert options, but we were just too full. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

I will start off by saying the food was good. We decided to go try for Sunday brunch. Inside the restaurant was cozy and view from table was pretty. My husband and I have often said, if a place has mediocre food and amazing service, we would try again, if a place has good food but mediocre service then may or may not go back. Today's experience falls under the later. I would much rather be told hey sorry, we are a little short staffed and I will take care of you than be given the excuse "we are slammed" as if that is that is an acceptable excuse. When we arrived, the restaurant looked pretty full. There appeared to be 2 people working. We waited for a table and then were seated with a couple of menus and no silverware. Waited for a bit and offered something to drink. We both asked for coffee with cream. Took quite some time and finally 2 cups of coffee arrive but no cream and still no silverware. Took a few minutes to get the cream, coffee was warm, not hot and still no silverware. Finally got the attention of the server to get silverware. Next, we order our breakfast. When it arrives, the order is not correct. Went ahead and ate the meal rather than wait for the order to be corrected (otherwise I either have to wait and my meal becomes cold, or I eat befor he is served). When my husband pointed out to the server it was not correct, her excuse was they were slammed, although at this point, there were several empty tables. Neither of the 2 servers worked with any sense of urgency. At one point, both stood behind the bar checking their phones. Our bill for 2 people was over $30. We don't mind paying, however at that price point ($16 for a scramble with spinach, diced ham and cheese), I am expecting excellent service or at minimum service where the employee is giving the impression they like their job. Other observations that although in and of themselves are not necessarily a big deal, do add up to my disappointment in a first time visit. I watched the server remove the tablecloth at the table next to us and put a fresh tablecloth on, yet we were seated at a table where the tablecloth had been removed and no fresh one put on. The bud vase with 2 wilted roses that were beyond their prime should have been removed. A small bottle of hand sanitizer spray left on the window sill next to the roses. The only table I could see with that. Cleaning spray and rag just sitting on the bar top. I understand needing to sanitize tables between customers, but store it out of site. I find it hard to believe there was not a better place to have this between uses. The gallon jug of orange juice just sitting on the same bar top. Again, was there nowhere else to put this between uses?

So my overall impression is it is a nice place with good food but it certainly lacked in the service and...

I was so excited to try this highly recommended restaurant for my grandsons 18th birthday. Upon arrival 10 minutes before our reservation, there was not a hostess present. After waiting patiently for 15 minutes, I had to go to the bar to ask the bartender if someone could seat us. The atmosphere was very pleasant, but the staff was very cold. Upon seating us, we ordered bottles of wine and checked out the menu. My daughter has been a frequent customer and raved about CC's entrees! We ordered and I was looking forward to my salmon, as it was highly recommended. Our dinners came and I looked at my dish with dashed hopes. It looked like a salmon soup with cilantro on top. It was supposed to have risotto as a side, but that was at the bottom of the bowl. It was fishy tasting and I pushed it aside after trying to eat it. My daughter ordered a steak and said the au gratin potatoes were to die for. She offered a slice to me and they were extremely bland and tasteless. Terri was our waitress, she never came to check on us, she brought the check over and at that point asked if we wanted anything else. Well, I wanted dessert along with the birthday guest. As we were still hungry! I ordered a sweet martini for dessert and it came with a salted rim. Very very dissatisfied. My dinner was removed and we left. I won't return unless the head chef is cooking. Very expensive dinner with very...

Wow! What an amazing experience we had dining at Schafer’s for the first time. It was our wedding anniversary and this place came highly recommended so we decided to try it and from entering the restaurant we were graciously greeted and felt welcome and were seated at a window with an amazing view of the lake. A very nice gentleman came over to discuss the menu in great detail and told us of the specials and was very very sweet. Our server was outstanding and was very knowledgeable about the menu and daily specials. I had the Halibut which was the best halibut dish I have had since moving here in 2010, my husband had the steak which again was outstanding, he ordered another side of mashed potatoes because they were that amazing. Our dessert (not really a desert, but our version) we had was the Moscow Mul that came in copper mugs that were by far the best drinks I’ve had in a long time, infact we went by the store and picked up ginger beer so we could occasionally make at home. You won’t go wrong with anything you order here at Schafer’s and we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for an outstanding establishment, customer service and amazing food. All around the best place I’ve eaten since living in this beautiful state we get to call...
