We stopped here for lunch when biking on the C&O. It's only a short bike ride to the old school building. The staff was friendly and helpful, answering our questions. Our group ordered the kraut dog, chicken fingers, chocolate milk, green beans, coleslaw, grilled cheese, and the fries. They brought our food out to us at the outdoor picnic table. We all enjoyed our food. We also enjoyed browsing the old cars in the back. They have bottled water, Gatorade, and other drinks in the cooler, as well as chips and some other grocery items.

Great food, geat prices, unique venue. It's actually a school, and you'll be eating in what was either the cafeteria or concessions area. This place is super friendly for canal travelers but is cash only, so heads up. There is an atm inside.

It's a shame that schools have to close but what a beautiful way to keep a piece of your town alive. We were adventuring Oldtown when we stumbled across this little gem. The waitress was sweet and gave us a little history of the place.

I must say I had a nice experience accept for one waiter who doesn't really care about you let alone keeps asking herself do I really have to be here?! me breakfast stop was nice and I thought that it was a friendly stopping place for a quick grab. they host concerts at night every once and a while! plus the location and creativity could not get more exotic! a real high school that was run down was brilliantly picked up and used as a restraint, auto body shop, and a nice gathering place for happy locals. a motto I would use for the restraint would be "come as strangers, leave as friends". There is even a gymnasium for your kids to go play basketball, while you wait for your food to come. this place is great although every restraint has a couple bad employees and a few mishaps, this one, I wont lie it can have its bad moments, but I feel that the good moments over power the bad. I defiantly recommend this place to bring family or friends, because I know that the moments you share there are the moments that you...

Just out of Cumberland, MD on the C&O Canal Towpath one of my riding partners broke a spoke on his rear wheel. We had just completed the ride from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland on the GAP Trail. With two flats, a previous broken spoke and a broken rack bolt between the three of us, we were having a pretty rough first-half of the trip. After asking the locals for some help we got referred to this place. Not having a nearby bike shop, the proprietor of the establishment allowed us to borrow his “other car.” We were able to drive back to Cumberland, get the wheel repaired and continue on. Not only did this act of kindness salvage our trip, it renewed our faith...

Been going there for years. Not a DC gourmet restaurant. Instead it is real. Have not seen the alleged racist signs but have noticed Trump signs—however much I dislike our childlike president I don’t go there for political discussion. Larry, and his wife, who runs it are wonderful and warm people. Only complaint is fried chicken is so good have a hard time ordering anything else. Pass fancier restaurants in Cumberland for this place. If you want fancy restaurants stay downtown and enjoy Prime Rib etc. but if you want to see what makes America great go to country places like this—where America already is great and real without help from...
