I went here last night with my sister to enjoy some food & drinks. An early Mother’s Day celebration because we both had a babysitter last night. Our night quickly went south. The wait was 2 hours long so we decided to go upstairs to the bar for drinks while we wait. We sit down and order two mojitos, the Bartender asks for our ID’s. We hand them over (we are from FL). She walks over to her computer and scans them & continues to look at them and look back at us and looks at them some more. Calls the second female bartender over and they’re both looking at them. She comes back to us & says “We can’t serve ya’ll”. So I ask why & she says “you have a Florida ID with a Virginia address” I said yes because I’m military here’s my military ID. I hand it over. She takes it along with my Florida ID which is a real ID & is VERY hard to be fake. Goes back to the other bartender and they stare at them some more. Eventually they get the manager up there & he looks at them. She comes back to me and says “yeah we aren’t going to serve ya’ll.” I said “this is crazy I just gave you guys a second form of identification what is the problem?” She states again it’s because my address is in Virginia and walks away. Doesn’t even ask us if we would at least like to order a meal. So we go downstairs, I see the manager pass by. I stop him and ask why he won’t serve us. He says “my bartenders didn’t trust your ID” I said “but I gave them a second form of identification, my MILITARY ID” and he said again “they didn’t trust it”. I said “aren’t you the manager???” And he said “yes but I trust my employees”. I told him this is crazy I’ve been here for three years now and have never had an issue with my ID, you can literally scan it and see it’s not fake. My sister (also a military spouse) proceeded to say “is this how you would treat all of your military customers?? We showed you a military ID” and he had no words. Just stood there staring at us and said his bartenders didn’t have to serve us if they didn’t want to. After discussing this incident with many other military families in the area, many of them have a state ID with a different state address and didn’t have an issue being served at yroc before. So it’s even more concerning, what did the bartenders have against us I have no idea. So disgusted with the way we were treated by the female bartenders upstairs & the manager last night. Seems like they don’t support our military.🙂 How can they question my MILITARY ID when it’s a valid government identification? I watched them SCAN my Florida ID & she still wants to question the legitimately? Sounds very fishy to me. With such a heavy military presence in the area you would think they wouldn’t deny a military ID. I know so many people recommend to go here, as so did I. But will never give them my...
Read moreMy sister and I visited last night to celebrate our Mother’s Day out at Yroc. As I’m sure you’ve seen the other reviews say… things took a turn after we were being refused service by the bartenders and manager…. We had a 2 hour wait so we found some seats at the bar upstairs. As soon as we were sat the first bartender asked for our drink orders and we handed her our IDs. She was friendly and everything was fine between us. When she saw my sisters ID is a FL ID with a Virginia license she asked another bartender #2 to look. #2 then came up to us, handed our IDs back and said “We can’t serve yall”. We asked why and she said because the different address on my sisters ID. ( This is a allowed because she’s military). We explained that to her and gave her our military IDs. She shook her head and took it back to talk again with bartender #1 and the manager. Then returned back to us saying “yeah we aren’t going to serve yall.” We asked why and she said the same reason. She walked off and we sat there for a few minutes just in shock. No one returned to ask us for anything else (no food or anything). We are not very confrontational people but we were honestly so shook. So we got up and headed downstairs where the manager was. We asked why they were refusing to serve us when we have multiple forms of ID. He said “I have to trust my bartenders.” They truly had no valid reason for refusing to serve us. Very very poor customer service. I asked him if this is how he treats all the military community and he didn’t know what to say. We left right after. We genuinely are so confused still. Would not recommend giving this place your money!!!!! There’s a large presence of military here that visit quite often. (AF, Army and navy) so they definitely need to be...
Read moreI'd probably rate this 2.5 stars, in all honesty.
The salad was pretty good, but it was a salad and kind of hard to screw that up.
I ordered a bloody Mary to drink with lobster ravioli and my girlfriend had catfish and chips.
The bloody Mary was delicious, but the chunks of pepper in it were a touch large. The amount of pepper wasn't the issue, it was that the pepper itself was only about a quarter pulverized and "chunky". I've never had nearly whole peppercorns in a bloody Mary before.
The fish for the fish and chips was fine. The breading was delicious, but the fish by itself was basically tasteless. But eating it with the breading makes it ok.
The lobster ravioli was obviously not made in house and had also obviously been frozen. The shrimp that it came with were the best part of the bowl. Adding cheese shavings and parsley to give it some eye appeal doesn't change the fact that it was, apart from the shrimp, just a sad dish. It was dense, obviously previously frozen, and frankly, something I'd give to my cats. I'm not even sure it contained lobster, although I'm sure the "cook" could have pulled the bag it came out of from the trash and shown me the ingredients had I asked. It was basically paste on the inside and didn't even taste like lobster. The pesto sauce was ok, but not great. Overall, there was a lot of that dish that needs rethinking by whomever is in charge.
If you go here, stick with something basic that's hard to screw up. Anything fancy won't be made in house, but fried foods and salads seem to be ok. The service is ok, but the staff tend to congregate around the bar and gossip loudly, to the point I know more about their personal lives than any...
