Horrible customer service. Poor planning. Mediocre food. Overstaffed. Poor shift management. Half a dozen girls standing around behind the bar doing nothing 🤔 instead of making tips waiting tables for two dozen rich old ladies on ladies night. "Ran out of pizza dough" 🙄 (8pm on pizza night lol) with only 10 tables to serve. 😆 (Felt like a lie, or just poorly communicated (whispered sidelong instead of direct eye contact.)). No comp, sub or consideration. Head bartender didn't know if the dough was fresh or bought ('store bought'..later)....and didn't know what type of fish sandwich they had, got the mystery meat. A real let down from...

I recently held a luncheon at the Brown Deer Event Center following my father's Celebration of Life Service in Iowa City. I live out of state and contacted the manager, Lee Weber. We took care of the luncheon details seamlessly through email and telephone conversations. The event space is beautiful, and the view from the room and the surrounding balcony overlooking the golf course added to the upscale ambiance. The food and presentation were excellent. New ownership. Not impressed. Portions are small. Smallest tenderloin in Iowa. $10 cheese curds about 1 cup worth, and they aren't great. Service was poor this night - had to ask for service. This could be the worst restaurant in Iowa right now. Hope they make quick improvements. Have eaten there 1-2 times a week prior to this....
