Pizza & Company — Restaurant in Corbin

I had an AWFUL experience with this establishment this afternoon. I pulled in and noticed it was busy. Working in customer service, myself, I prepared myself to wait. I walked in and there were two table with families and the rest of the tables were covered with old food, so obviously they had been busy.

As I approached the front desk, a lady comes out from the back and barks at me that it will be a minute. I nodded and said, “Yeah, that’s totally fine.”

Again, I work in customer service, so I recognized that she was busy and stressed. I waited several minutes, playing on my phone, and on one of her trips back into the kitchen she yells to me, “It’ll be at least 45 minutes.” I, a little shocked, said, “To take my order?” And she huffed and said, “No, for you to get anything.” I said, “Oh okay, I just need to place an order for a salad.” She, again, loudly, huffed and went back into the kitchen.

I looked around the restaurant because I was kind of embarrassed for her at her own behavior and also because I felt like I was being treated like I did something wrong.

Then, an older lady comes out of the back and gently tells me, “It will be about 35 minutes.” To which I reiterated, “To take my order…?” And she barely got out, “Oh… no,” when the other lady stormed out of the kitchen and literally (like… legit) slammed a note pad on the desk and yelled, “Here, you take it!” and then storms back into the kitchen. I was beyond done at this point. The older lady started to pick up the notepad and I said, “No, I don’t need anything. Her attitude has been enough.”

I left embarrassed and FUMING, and I, nor my family, will EVER go...

The pizza, salads.and sub were amazing as always. The downfall was the service. I had to hunt down the menus, the girl never brought them It took 53 minutes for two salads, a pizza, and an Italian sub. She never checked on us, no refills. Our food was delivered with no silverware. We had to flag her down to ask for them. She said she would bring me a plate for my pizza and the cheese/pepper shakers, they never came. I had to use my daughter’s salad plate and I found the shakers. Other people were having to get their own refills. My daughter finally caught her for a water refill, well ten minutes later I go get a box. She hands me my daughter’s water and box and says can you take the water to your table. Two tables were contemplating leaving. The usual lady wasn’t there, so I believe that was the problem. There was plenty of workers- a guy and three other ladies that I saw when paying. From here on out, we will order takeout from here, no more dining in. We weren’t the only diners unhappy with...

I hear that the super salads were big and the food was good. So I suggested we get it to go for dinner. The “Super” salad only filled the one compartment of three in the styrofoam take out container . My family was shocked and said it’s never been like that when they have ordered from here or eat in. The Stromboli steak sandwich was Salisbury steak with gravy and the Italian sandwich was thin and not dressed well. I called spoke to the owner and all I got was we’ve been doing it this way for 40 yrs. No apology , nothing just defensiveness. I didn’t want my money back , I didn’t want more food I just wanted to know if this is the way it is going to be moving forward so we know to take our business elsewhere. I am not bashing this place it’s just not for us...
