Good food. Challenging parking. The Bat-Signal led me to this historic establishment, which, according to my intel, has been in operation since 1859. Its brick facade and old-world charm project an image of timelessness, a stark contrast to the chaotic streets of Gotham. My mission was a two-pronged investigation: to assess the food and the overall operational efficiency of the establishment. The first objective was the cheesesteak. A hero on a mission requires sustenance. The Blue Bird's cheesesteak, paired with a beerb, served as the primary test. And the verdict is... Delicious. It performed its function, and more. My comrade’s Reuben also earned a passing grade. During my patrol of the interior, I noted a detail that would make Alfred proud: they serve Franziskaner Weissbier. This is a rare find, a light in the darkness of bland domestic lagers, and it is a testament to their "extensive... European beer selections." Its presence on the menu, along with a rotating selection of 30 other drafts, signals a deeper understanding of tactical beverage planning. I also noted the multiple digital screens displaying trivia, a clever distraction for the mind, a puzzle to occupy the unwary civilian while they await their orders. It's the kind of subtle challenge the Riddler would appreciate. My field notes also indicate a critical tactical challenge: the parking situation. As seen in the reconnaissance photos, the Batmobile's ingress and egress were severely restricted. The lot is small, and civilians, in their desperation for a spot, resort to parking on the grassy hills, a clear sign of a lack of organizational foresight. This is a weakness that could be exploited by any number of Gotham's villains. The mission concluded with a positive assessment. The food is reliable, the beer selection is commendable, and the historic ambiance is a welcome change from the industrial decay of my usual haunts. However, the parking situation is a security risk. Detective Tips Study the History: The Blue Bird Inn is a historic building, so take a moment to appreciate its "homey ambiance." It's not just a restaurant; it's a piece of history. Plan Your Infiltration: The parking is tight. To avoid a tactical nightmare, arrive early or be prepared to navigate a chaotic and unconventional parking lot. Choose Your Drink Wisely: The Blue Bird Inn offers a wide selection of microbrews and European beers. Don't settle for the usual. Seek out the unique brews and reward yourself. Engage the Intel: The online trivia screens are a distraction, but they can also be a test of your intellectual prowess. Use them to sharpen your mind. BEWARE The Parking Gauntlet: The limited and disorganized parking is a significant threat to a quick and clean escape. A lesser hero might find their vehicle blocked in by a citizen's misplaced SUV. Potential for Overload: While generally friendly, the staff can get busy. The "crowded and noisy" atmosphere during peak times can lead to sensory overload. If you prefer a quiet, contemplative stakeout, this is not the place for you. Final Verdict: The Blue Bird Inn is a well-run establishment with a strong sense of history and an excellent beer selection. While the parking presents a challenge, the overall experience is a success. It earns a solid commendation. Rating: 🦇🦇🦇🦇 (Four out of five bats. A historic pub with solid provisions and a...
Read moreWow what an eventful night eating at this GEM!!!! First off there is soooooo many options to choose from on the menu (after passing around the readers, I settled on the lemon chicken! My girlfriends and I started out with the tasty margaritas and a few glasses of wine. That might have been a slight mistake.😬 After about the third tasty marg, one of my girlfriends have what we call slippery fingers. The glasses literally just slid right off the table and crashed on the floor! After about the third broken glass, we put her in the car and continued on with our meals, we even ate her meal too (can't let anything go to waste)! The pierogies were sooooo tasty there was a cat fight among two of my girlfriends over the last one! So they did what any decent friends would do, and cut it in half, so both could have that savory taste in their mouth. The main dishes were amazing, believe it or not we all ate everything on our plates (we know how to pack it on) During dessert time we felt bad and unlocked the car to let our birthday girl back in, to sing happy bday and let her enjoy the moist tiramisu! But we had to tie her hands behind the chair, but it did not matter another glass slid off the table and shattered, we then realized the table was slanted and we threw her in the car for no good reason🤦🏽♀️ this place has a great vibe, server was attentive (especially during the tsunami of broken glasses) and the food was literally amazing!!! Plenty of parking in the rear 😉, bathrooms were clean and silverware was spotless! If you are ever in the area this place is highly...
Read moreOn Friday August 8th we were out having drinks with good friends at the bluebird inn in cornwall. The waitress came over to take our order and told us her name."that's wonderful, I replied, that's the same name as our puppy. We both laughed and I showed her a picture.I ordered a martini with a little rubber duck in it. when the waitress brought it over to me I said that's so cute, I have a collection of theses, I showed her some I had in my purse. "Oh, my you even have a black one she said. Yes I said, I have many, you can have it if you like. Well as you may have guessed by now, our waitress was black. She must have took offence to that because she took the duck and never came back. A little while later, some young girl came to our table and very rudely said"did you give a black duck to your server and said it looked like her? No, that was never my intention. She stormed away without saying anything. We sat there and stewed on this for about 20 minutes. Out table was being avoided. Finally I went to the bar and requested a manager.A woman came to the table and asked what the problem was . She was very respectful and told us since no one waited on us and it was pass happy hour she would give us the reduced prices on everything. Thank you I said and she left the table. That doesn't change the fact that the waitress had a racist attitude towards us and we were made to think we were the problem.A slight misunderstanding turned our evening into a fiasco. Never in my life have I been treated like this. We will...
