Not the place to start your day. My husband finally got us out to his favorite coffee waves location. We ordered our drinks, one of us waited several steps away from the drink counter while the rest of us sat down. Several other customers were coming in and out as well. Orders were called out by what the drinks were, so a few orders of the same drink (but different sizes and different customers) were called to the counter at the same time. Another customer got to the counter first, grabbed the large drink and left. That customer had ordered a small but left with our large we ordered. We kindly mentioned to the staff another customer had taken our large drink, they seemed fine with re-making the large for us. However, when the staff handed us our drink they said “next time be more aware”…. Now I’ve worked in food service for 10 years and am always extra kind to staff, tip well, and most of the time don’t mention ANYTHING wrong with food/orders. We were very kind in mentioning “hey, someone else walked off with our drink”…. But to then be told WE the customer has to be “more aware” blows my mind. The customers should not have to police the drink counter and argue with other customers over whose drink is whose. I highly recommend asking customers a name for their order- it minimizes errors in order pickup and does not put the customers in charge of figuring out what belongs to each person. The attitude of the employee completely ruined our whole day, we were excited for an epic day starting with what used to be the “best” coffee...
Read moreI'm a Coloradan who's in town for a visit; I visited this Coffee Waves location on suggestion from The Bartel Family's YouTube VLOG (definitely check it out if you're interested in learning more about everything that the lovely city of Corpus Christi has to offer). I couldn't be more impressed and happy with Coffee Waves--I stopped to work for several hours and it's the ideal place to knock out some work ... super chill environment with a great ambiance. There are cozy nooks for working and outlets a-plenty ... the internet is fast and easy to hook up to. Oh, and the drinks! haha. An important point. I got a vanilla frappuccino (this is apparently called a "big train" at the Flour Bluff location) and it was delightful. The staff were friendly and professional and knew what they were doing. You know what else? They have freakin' gelato. GELATO, Y'ALL. It's September and it's still hot and muggy down here in Corpus Christi, so I can't tell you how excited this Colorado girl is that they had gelato ... in loads of different flavors. I needed a place to work and a sweet treat to cool me down and Coffee Waves delivered in a great location ... definitely kicking off my Corpus Christi trip on the right foot. WILL return! This place ROCKS, for work, relaxation and...
Read moreUPDATE: I initially gave Coffee Waves a 5 star but lately they have been so inconsistent and it’s very disappointing. I get the same exact drink and for a long time it tasted the same every time I got it. Over the last 2 months, it’s been hit and miss. More on the miss side. Monday I went inside to actually sit and visit with a friend and when I got my drink it was sour! It was so disgusting. I had them remake it and while it was much better it still didn’t taste like it use to taste. My friend and I finished our drinks and then left, shortly after I ended up getting sick to my stomach. My friends stomach was a little shaky too but I was the one that ended up getting really sick. I don’t know if was from the first drink that was sour or what it was but now I’m scared to go back. The drinks cost too much money for them to not taste consistent and to be having spoiled product used to make them.
I moved here from WA state and found it odd that there is a serious lack in GOOD coffee shops. Starbucks sucks. There are no coffee stands... when I discovered this place I felt like I was back home. This place is legit and could hold its ground against the amazing coffee shops I’m use to back home. LOVE this place so much and the staff is pretty...
