We stopped in for a late lunch after traveling from Panama City to Tallahassee and back. I was starving and my husband was slightly hungry. We ordered the gator bite appetizer and then also ordered the fried pickles after the waitress said it would be a bit on our other food and the make their own breeding for pickles. We also ordered a couple beer. The atmosphere and service were awesome. Waitress told my husband that the smoked tuna dip with pickles, jalapeños ad crackers was good so he ordered that. I had already previewed the menu coming back from tallahassee and was excited about the Mahi tacos so ordered that. Sll food was excellent except that mine was not Mahi but chicken. I was so hungry I scared the first of 3 down quickly telling my husband this doesn't taste like Mahi and gave him a piece to which he said "well blackened taste different" I took 2 more bites of second taco, then opened and looked and was like that's chicken to myself. My husband saw me not eating and thought I was done and ate rest of 2nd taco. Me not being a complainer just asked for a to go box and had planned to take pic of said chicken taco when we got home but said husband thought I was done and gave it to dogs. Anyhoo.....done advertise Mahi and then use chicken. And BTW I know my fish born and raised in keys and florida my whole life and my favorite is grouper, Mahi and...

Friday night, 6pm. Food was awsome. Not too busy, but that is a good thing, only one waitress and one person in kitchen. However, it didn't take too long to get our food. I had real fried chicken strips with ff and my husband had the platter of fried grouper, oysters and huge fried shrimp along with hushpuppies, red beans and rice and ff. Everything was so good. The waitress was nice and seemed to be holding it all together inspite of having to take care of shucking oysters, drinks, bar customers, table service and cashier service. Would definitely come back here again. But if your one of those people who don't have any patience or understanding from when you get seated to getting menues and food orders, when there is only one waitress then this would not have been the...

Visited Mermaids at 8:30 at night with wife and grandkids driving to Fort Lauderdale Florida from Oklahoma to fill a craving for oysters. Unfortunately, they were out of oysters so I settled for a PoBoy and the rest of the family had the shrimp dinner with hushpuppy. The waitress was awesome! She packed up our order in to-go containers and walked them out to where we were parked. Some of the best seafood I've had in a very very long time. Everything was prepared perfectly and was ready within 10 minutes. Price was modest for the portion size and exceptional service. If I lived closer I would be there weekly for dinner. Hats off to a great restaurant with great service. (Note) Never judge a restaurant by outside appearance... .. you just might...

This cute little restaurant may be small but it's big on tasty food. Built in a remodeled gas station and convenience store, its cozy atmosphere is decorated in whimsical mermaid/ocean theme. I had the strawberry margarita, oysters, and seafood gumbo. The oysters were fresh and delightful. But the gumbo was the real star with lots of shrimp, rice, and sausage. The broth was just thick enough to hold all the delicious ingredients together and had very little spicy heat so you could season to taste. The margaritas were only meh and very light on the alcohol. I'm a lightweight and could neither taste nor feel any tequila. Pricing was a little high. $10 each for the barely-there Margatitas and another $10 for the gumbo.

As many times I have come this place I have never had such bad plate brought to my table. When I say it was bad it was bad I ordered a seafood platter and low and behold I get a plate with the oysters smaller than my pinky. Don't even look like a oyster. Not sure what I was looking at no tartar sauce .I won't even speak on the mushrooms I paid $10 for. And to top this whole visit off this waitress ran this store by herself. She did the best she could. Cooking and taking orders. Someone needs to come to work or stay closed until u get some help. Those 3 dark things on this plate is the oysters u got to be kidding me. I had to ask for my shrimp and mushrooms. Yall come on now.
