This is the best the area has to offer? Step it way up, for the love of God! We were so excited to eat dinner here.
It was so cold in there, it was not even an option to stay a while to enjoy cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, maybe try following recipes?
My shrimp was swimming in garlic, the actual shrimp was good though. I simply needed to scrape the garlic slop off them.
My husband's "grilled mushrooms" were from a can, it appeared. My baked potato was nearly raw, I sent it back for a replacement which was cooked all the way through.
Salads were basic and quite tasty, crisp.
The Flat Iron steak was delicious, a little bland, but cooked medium rare as requested.
The baked potato came with some type of garlic seasoning which was over the top, not good.
The Server was sweet, but seemed very nervous. So. Much. Perfume though.
I could hear her on the other side of the booth partition giving instructions to the Cook. Quite frankly, I do not want to hear that the Server is going to just sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning on my Shrimp when the Cook did not know how to prepare my shrimp grilled instead of deep fried.
The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was hard and tasteless with way too sweet dipping sauce.
Sigh ...this may be nitpicky, but spelling matters, particularly when you claim to be the best Steakhouse around. Check your menu.

Read moreSteakhouse at Cove, Review We left Joseph at 8:00 am for our 9:30 reservation. Best part of this experience was the 75 mile drive thru Lostine, Wallowa, Miniam canyon, beautiful day. We arrived on time at the Steakhouse at Cove restaurant for the advertised all you can eat Buffet. Our reservation was not recorded, but we were seated right away. The Hostess was pleasant. The restaurant was noticeably cold. Wide variety of breakfast items: I selected a small sample of each item, Bacon (cold and greasy), Ham (cold), Sausage ( cold and flavorless?), Scrambled Eggs (warm but mushy; obviously from a carton, Sink Scramble? (Sausage, cubed Potato and Egg, not tasty). French Toast, Pancakes, Waffles and Scones were dry and cold. The Biscuit was fresh, Gravy was very salty. As shown I didn’t eat much of the above. I tried the pastry selection, Blue Berry Muffin, Chocolate covered Donut, some kind of Peanut Butter filled pastry and Homemade Sourdough Toast. Thank goodness for the Toast with some Smuckers Obviously we wont be back for the Buffet, maybe we will challenge th we...
Read moreWe want to support our local restaurants, and went here last night for dinner. The experience started before we even got to the door. I'm disabled, in a wheelchair, and to get in the door, have to position the wheelchair within inches of the steps. No way should this be considered wheelchair accessible. We sat down and ordered, a ribeye with a side skewer of shrimp, and a bacon wrapped tenderloin. The salad came, and we had to ask for silverware. Then we had to request salt and pepper. The salad itself was very nice. Our meals arrived, missing the shrimp skewer. My tenderloin, ordered medium rare, was a perfect well-done. The ribeye, ordered medium was closer to rare. They did offer to replace the steak steaks, but I refused the offer, the experience at that point just put a damper on the evening) Spoke with the manager before leaving, and I really hope they train the staff better. All in all, a big disappointment. We will return in a month or two, give them another chance, and update...
