Mindblowingly delicious! A delightful roadside stop in an area thinly served by restaurants. We ordered the walleye dinner which was done to perfection and full-flavored without any sauce. Generous portions of decadent sweet potatoes and buttered, herbed vegetables. We also ordered the special - prime rib smothered in mushrooms and cheese on thick, hearty toast, with a pile of garlic mashed potatoes and bowl of au jus. Well worth the stop -- so happy we did!

Great place the food was amazing fried green beans the trio steak fried mushrooms... the place was great on the eyes I only gave 3 to service our waitress was nice and accommodating but everyone was just wearing whatever t-shirt and shorts they felt like wearing I was kinda expecting a work outfits and our apatizers came with our meal not prior other than that check em out!

Friendly staff, love the cabin atmosphere, and the time from ordering to getting our dinner was crazy fast. I swear it was like 5 minutes for an appetizer, side salad, and steak dinner. But speed didn't deter quality, everything was delicious and they fixed some of their own mistakes before even serving us, giving us extra food to make up for it. Good attention to detail!

9/17 Good food and service. We had lunch ordering a couple of different burgers. All burgers are 1/2# size, more than we prefer but fairly priced and served with fries. The burgers were cooked as requested and food was served hot. Service was friendly and prompt. The interior of the place is starting to show some wear and could use some help in repairs and cleaning. The parking area could use some gravel and a good grading, lots of ruts and holes. We will eat there again.

7/15/18 Boy how things here are going from good to bad

This used to be our go to stop for lunch and dinner, little over an hour from our house. In a little over a year this place has transformed itself to a poor service, mediocre food quality and dirty restaurant and bar.

To start, the gravel parking area hasn't seen any gravel or grading in well over a year, easy to twist an ankle just getting in. Once inside you notice the seating that is worn and cracked sitting on what appears to be black carpeting speckled with dropped food or what was wiped off the tables. The real color of the carpeting is a light tan as it appears in the prep/coffee area. Once you sit down and look up you will be greeted by dusty and dirty beams and drapes. I will not even address the restrooms condition.

I got the salad bar with my meal, checked it out and the only thing that was kept up on was the lettuce. Three of the containers were empty, another three only had enough for a plate or two and the three weren't salad toppings at all, e.g. coleslaw, cottage cheese and pasta salad. As often as the staff went to it to check it out you would think someone would either remove the empty containers or refill them, nope. Put in our order, told everything was available and there are no specials, hamburgers are always good. Five minutes later I get told that the special is no longer available.???? I changed my order. Twenty minutes later we get our food; there are only four other people eating besides us. I guess that was the cook sitting outside having smoke. The food was mediocre at best. We had water to drink, waitress left a pitcher of tap water with no ice on our table, no a/c in this place, close to 90's outside and they have a fan blowing at us. Not a very attentive server overall, maybe she is new, she seems totally unsure of herself and unaware of what you get with what meals. I will give her a pass, because I think she was tossed into this w/o any training.

Final thoughts, unfortunately I can't recommend this place not will we be returning. We are taking it off our group stops and will stop recommending it to anyone. I would recommend that the local county health department stop on in and check it out. I am sad to see this place in this disrepair, circling the toilet bowl. I hope the owners take notice and take some actions and pull this previous gem out of a...

For place I gave a review and said why I'd never go back. The food was so unremarkable that its hard to remember what I had ordered. What I cant forget was the astronomical, extremely long wait to 1. Get service, 2. Get drinks, 3. Get our food!, 4 get our check, & 5. Pay the bloody thing! There was only one table occupied when we came in, just one! We were about to leave when a waitress showed up. (We were discussing leaving because our wait on our food) when I had to stop her and ask her where our order was. The waitress was nice and polite but it appeared she was overwhelmed when 3 more tables filled up while our order was supposedly cooking. Oh yes I got some kind of spicy chicken and onion rings. My rings were good sandwich was dry. My bf entire meal was cold! It was obvious the cook started mine and his at the same time or his first. Because just by looking at the ff you could tell they were old and wilted and yes cold. We dont say anything to the waitress because I thing that might have put her over the top and it was obvious she was already overwhelmed. But then I assume the owner commented on my complaint in a way to deflect the poor service and food back to me. Lol instead she ahould have appologied and said somewhere along the lines she would look into the matter and hoped wed give the place another try. But nope I read a few other posts and she was the same with the neg. Ones also. Well lady if your reading this one also maybe you should take heed and look into it. No one and no business is perfect. And put a fan or something to shoo the flies that are feasting on your salad bar. Bit I doubt you will. By your comment on my previous review I can tell your never wrong, and its always someone else's fault. And idk why Google asked me to review your place again. But it...

UPDATE in 2024: As I originally mentioned, I eat here when I can. Tonight was the first time this year and I hope my meal didn’t signal the beginning of the end: First off - the cheeseburger and chicken breast took over an hour to get to us. 30 of those minutes were after the place was mostly cleared out and the rest of the people were finishing their meal. Next - The cheeseburger was good, but a little cold and was brought out to us without the top half of bun. My chicken dinner was a tiny chicken breast brought out on a large plate without any kind of garnish which created a presentation so out of proportion it looked comical. The mashed potatoes were about a half a helping put in a tiny bowl that looked almost as comical as the chicken breast on the plate. And I was told that my veggies would be out shortly. I could have finished the meal before the same tiny bowl appeared with the veggies. During all this we were sitting near the kitchen and could hear the chef, Carl, berating the two waitresses. When they stood up for themselves (and once, one of the young girls told the older chef that he needed to get moving, we can’t let guests wait this long for their food) he mumbled something about not being mad at them, but himself. The service wasn’t spectacular but with the way things were going I’m not surprised the two young waitresses were a little off their game. I hope it was an off night because I will miss stopping here for a nice meal when I’m in the area. (But the drinks were good!)

Original post in 2023: If I'm in the area I make it a point to stop in here and I've never not been pleased. Always...
