Second trip to Coweta, previous experience was good and we enjoyed the food enough to make a trip back, but this weekend was a total fail for management and kitchen. We arrived shortly before 5 Sunday afternoon. One 2-top, and two at the bar when we came in. Within 10 minutes, two large parties of 6+ and a 3-top came in. We ordered from the bar, cheese curds, shrimp fettuccini and the cajun ribeye. Bar service took a while. Curds came out under cooked, doughy and chewy. We asked that they remake them. Waitress walks back out of the kitchen within 60 seconds with a basket of 4 actual curds and the rest was fried batter doughballs. These were over cooked with burned spots. Last time the batter was light, well seasoned, and airy. This time they were bland dough balls, not even close. Drinks are done by now and we wait, and we wait. By this time, the previous patrons were gone and every table in the place had been served. We pointed this out to the waitress. We continue to wait. The large group seated near us were ordering desert. Their dessert came, and nothing for us. Two DoorDash orders out the door, and nothing for us. Over an hour wait later. I called the waitress a asked here to cash us out for the curds and the drinks. She apologized and cashed us out. Nothing from the manager. Needless to say, we will likely never make the drive to Coweta for this...
Read moreNice place? Sure! Good food? Yep...so why the two stars? Last night I drove 40 minutes to get there. When my mobility-limited bride and I finally got in the door, there was a line of people going upstairs. I told the "hostess" (?) we were not with the upstairs party and she let me know quickly the DOWNSTAIRS of the restaurant was CLOSED for the party...UPSTAIRS. Huhhh??? This business is so poorly managed they can't cope with an upstairs party while concurrently serving the general public DOWNSTAIRS??? So much for the long drive to a place we USED to enjoy...but won't be doing so in the future. Update 28 June 23 - Decided to give it another "chance". Ah yes...Chicken Fried Steak. It was a FULL POUND, I'm sure! FOUR ounces of beef and TWELVE ounces of breading. AMAZING. Mashed potatoes were 50% potatoes and 50% garlic...(cough)...the obligatory green beans were "fashionably" NOT COOKED...crunchy as Fritos. Altho' we were pretty well ignored, I'll acknowledge that our "waitress" (server, contemporarily) was also tending bar and pretty busy. I was right the first time...I shouldn't have gone back. Those who genuinely like this place should REALLY consider raising...
Read moreA good place to have lunch or a casual dinner. Their menu has a decent variety with very good quality. Seating can hold a moderate amount of folk with space available at the bar. Service was quick, hospitable, and attentive, despite the tempo picking up quite a bit just after noon. Rather popular with the locals, I assume.
I had the jalapeño poppers and The Cuban, with sweet tea. The poppers are made with fresh half shell, so I would let them cool just a bit before indulging, so the crust doesn't slide off. Not too spicy, had a pleasant texture. The Cuban. In one word, Delicious. I highly recommend it. The mango (salsa?) sauce pairs excellently with the mustard, giving it a slightly exotic taste without overpowering the experience. They don't skimp on the meat either. For the sweet tea, and my being from Texas, adding a couple sweetner packets brought it to preference, but it has plenty of flavor and isn't watery. I am certainly looking forward to...
