Top Taste Grill — Restaurant in Cramerton

Found this restaurant on TikTok, was excited because of the location, it’s close to my home. We arrived around 12:00 on a Thursday. The staff was kind and friendly…….. we ordered 2 meals ribs with sauce, macaroni and plantain and oxtails yams and collards…. Also strawberry pudding ….. the price was outrageous but we were ok because we wanted to support a black business so we overlooked the price. First our rib plate came out with the yams and collards, we got a large portion of ribs but they were tough and lacking in flavor with watery bbq sauce on them we threw most of them in the trash, the yams were disgusting, like they were canned and then put fruit juice on them, the collards were under cooked and the only seasoning was red pepper 🌶️ so they were extremely spicy, next our oxtail plate came out and we were hoping it would be better but it was not!! The oxtails were bland, very tough and mostly bones definitely not worth the price the macaroni was meh could have been better but the plantain was actually really good hot and fresh. We had to remind them that we ordered strawberry pudding and once it was served we couldn’t eat it because it was a block frozen so hard we couldn’t even get the fork in it. Overall we were extremely disappointed and felt that we wasted our money. I don’t like eating somewhere knowing I could have cooked it better myself at home! I hope this isn’t their usual and they had an off day! But this was our first and last time dining at this...

The Red beans and rice were really good. Just needed a pinch of salt. This was the first time I tasted yams like theirs. They had kind of a Hawaiian sweet taste to it. They weren't drowned in syrup and brown sugar. In other words they were really really good. Now for the main attraction, the jerk season. The chicken was the perfect blend of jerk seasoning and tenderized meat. My order came with a cup of there jerk sauce. I poured it on the rice and beans and the jerk chicken and my taste buds exploded. I will most definitely return to this establishment. #GratuityAdded

Honesty assessment, I ordered here on Friday, March 6 two oxtail plates to go. Got home me and my friend ate and we both had the same conclusion. While the oxtail was very tasty. It was tasty un a home cooked American southern fashion not Caribbean. I didn’t get any flavor that I would be expecting when ordering from a Caribbean restaurant, the dish with devoid of allspice, nutmeg, clove, garlic, or any other of the traditional palettes you would expect from ordering Caribbean, I could cook this meal at home myself and I’m an American! For the price point, These aren’t exceptionally built plates with meager portions. I have no problem spending over $30 a plate. However, I’d like to feel like I’m getting my moneys worth, that is lacking extremely with this place, value! although not the worst, I’ve ever had. I’ll probably wouldn’t be back because I feel there are better offerings of Caribbean in Charlotte and near this area, if I came back, it will be for a quick lunch with one of the less...
