I have been a fan of the Princeton location for a while and was thrilled to hear that Princeton Soup and Sandwich was opening a new location close by. Sadly, this was such a huge disappointment. My first mistake upon entering the eatery was using the self service kiosk. Not only does it charge a FEE to use, it lacked descriptions for certain items. When I received my soup and sandwich combo, I was shocked that there was pine nut mayo on my sandwich. I did not recall seeing mayo in the description of my ham and cheese sandwich at the kiosk, and if I did, I would have made a note to take it off.
When I inquired about the mayo, two workers, one who was short with blonde hair, and an older gentleman with glasses completely disregarded my comment and both pointed at the menu hanging above and my receipt that printed on their end stating that the sandwich states it includes mayo. The place was not busy either so I was disappointed that they could not spend one extra minute to really listen to me. At that point, I accepted that it was my fault for not reading the description at the kiosk carefully.
However, I decided to go back to the kiosk to check if the sandwich explicitly stated if it included mayo.. to which it did not! I called the older gentleman over to look for where it states mayo in the sandwich description. He was unable to find it so he called over the blonde woman. After both of them tapped around on the self service kiosk, the blonde woman stormed off.
I then asked if they could remake my sandwich without mayo to which the older gentleman agreed to. Even though I had my sandwich remade, I never explicitly received an apology throughout this frustrating experience. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. Now when I am in downtown Princeton, I head across the street to Playa Bowls as I refuse to support a business that disregards...
Read moreLoved the food. Classic sandwiches and delicious soups. This new location is extremely clean, spacious, and well-kept. The person working at the register was very friendly, and the turnaround time for the food was quick. It's very obvious that most of the things served here are made in house given the great quality and unique flavors. I loved the tomato basil rice soup. The veggie burger is also great; it's nice to have a burger that isn't just a frozen store-bought patty.
I will definitely be a regular here given the great quality and consistent standards I've seen being a customer at the Princeton location.
On a side note--I'm quite shocked by the lower reviews here. I think we should give this place the benefit of the doubt that it's a new location/they have the grace period where they're getting adjusted to the new location/operations. I have always been impressed when I visit the Princeton location, and found the quality to always be consistent.
Also, to the people who were disappointed in not getting fries included as a side and not getting turkey breast in your sandwich, you probably should have asked while ordering instead of complaining later...just...
Read moreThank you Mr Dylan and Mr Niko for the exceptional service! I am familiar with the Princeton location and stumbled upon the Cranbury one as I got lost on my way back to Plainsboro. My first time, Mr Dylan was incredibly helpful, kind and welcoming. He took time to walk me through the different vegetarian options, making recommendations even though I didn't get anything. I just wanted to browse and he encouraged me to come back, giving me a menu to take with me. Since then, I've been coming quite regularly this summer. I've loved everything I've ordered especially the veggie burger and falafel wrap. Mr Dylan had me try the Ceci soup today and it was also fantastic. Thank you for always being so kind to your patrons! Lastly, the space is so beautiful, the flowers outside, and I absolutely love the mural with Princeton and...
