El Authentico Burrito — Restaurant in Crest Hill

What a shame. I’ve been coming here consistently for the past 3 years. I typically come at least once or twice per week. Today I ordered my food and got home and there was hair in my food. I called and let them know over the phone and the guy agreed over the phone that he would remake my tacos and on the phone I also asked will I also get a refund and he replied yes, and asked that I bring in the other tacos back. So I pack up my two toddlers to go get my food. When I get there, they ask for the old tacos back and asked how I wanted my tacos I told them the same way. They guy then brings my tacos back and I asked for my refund. And he was like oh I don’t think they are going to give you a refund. I said well can you go ask? This was very inconvenient for me considering I had to pack up my two kids to come back up here. I come here all of the time. They guy comes back and says no. I said well that unfortunate. This restaurant has been my “go-to” for the past five years since I’ve lived out this way. Three of those years I’ve been strictly vegetarian and this restaurant made it easy for me to find an expansive variety of meals that could easily be accommodated to have no meat and still be filling and nutritious. It’s all fresh ingredients here! Just as the title boasts, they truly do have the best authentic Mexican food in the area. The staff is always very friendly and efficient. My usual is a veggie tostada and large guacamole with chips and horchata. I often splurge and treat myself to the veggie burrito or the chile relleno which, if you’ve never tried, you’re missing out! If you’re a seafood lover like myself, try their ceviche, it’s out of this world. I love that they stay open during late night hours. They have the most delicious house made salsas - mild verde and the extra spicy red sauce! My personal favorite is the extra spicy red sauce because along with the wonderful heat, it has a lovely bold blended flavor of onion, garlic and habenero. Don’t sleep on those sauces...

It’s a peaceful place to have lunch/dinner the food is Great but after sitting and having lunch with a friend i haven’t seen in months we sat for 2 hours catching up talking and laughing I had My kid with me who is 2 and basically we were kicked out. The first time she asked “Is everything ok” we said yeah the second time she came back not long after and said whenever you’re ready I’m ready.
