Middle-aged Chinese-American here. It's not about the ambiance, folks. It's about the food. I've eaten Chinese food on six continents. If you want to propose to your significant other, do it elsewhere (but order your food from here later on). If you want solid Chinese food that's fresh and done well, you won't go wrong with Ming Garden. Try the house special spring rolls, Curry Mei Fun (rice noodles) to start. Why is the food good? Because they do a ton of take-out, so all the food is freshly ordered and prepared. No week-old ingredients here. Pro tip, ask for recommendations from the chef, like with Japanese restaurant omakase ( I'll leave it up to you). I'm from NYC and came to CT for the weekend. I ended up coming here three times. I just tried Ming Garden I had been here before but it was a different owner and I went during Covid so I ordered and picked up at a window bei I was surprised to walk in and see the beautiful decor and. How clean everything was I was impressed with the food too o think I’ve found my go to place for those days I’m in the mood for Asian cuisine and I can’t wait to see if the other menu items are as good I ordered Ganeral Yso’s combo platter I asked for not spicy and it was good the sauce was not overly sweet or too thick the egg roll was delicious I’d go back just for the egg roll but I plan on checking out the other items as well they gave me a pretty purple bag to take home my food that can be reused very happy I stopped much success to...

My family has been going to Ming Garden for years (old location and new one), and this is hands-down the best Chinese food around. A few of our favorite dishes are: green pepper steak, chicken and mixed vegetables (we love asking for spicy too) and Prawns with special salt (a unique dish if you love shrimp, this is a big time winner!) Beyond the great food, they provide great value, AND, their kindness and care for their customers and hospitality is first rate!
