No customer service I recently stopped at the Wharf to fill my waverunner up with gas. I waited for quite some time for someone to come to the gas dock-there were several servers working outside and nobody acknowledged me. I was almost ready to leave and someone came out. He was very friendly and nice, apologized for the wait. My waverunner had about a third of a tank of gas left so I had it filled (total capacity is 15 gallons). The employee brought an ipad for me to sign and I couldn't see anything but black on the screen (it was sunny), so he tilted it a little bit and said "sign in the white box". I did and I declined a receipt (yes, my mistake here!) A couple days later I saw a charge for over $45 for my gas. It seemed like too much and I thought there must be a mistake so I called the Wharf. I asked for a manager and the young lady on the phone said she could help me--I explained the issue and she said she would find the transaction and get back to me. I got a call back from the employee who pumped the gas and he said I had chosen to leave a 20% tip (I did not--the only thing I did--or could see--on the ipad was the white box to sign). He said he would send a gift card for the tip amount. A few minutes later, I got a call from the young lady who I talked to earlier--she said the same thing and said there was "no way" the employee can add a tip without me knowing (it obviously can happen, because it did!). She also said I would get a gift card. I will say that her demeanor on the phone had "attitude" and was not customer-first. If either of them had just said something like "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding" or "I'm not sure how this happened" or something, I would have just dropped it--but the attitude was such that I did not want to. I just received the gift card--with the note that I have attached. Again--is this the way to treat customers? We have been coming to the Whitefish Chain for over 20 years and have stopped at the Wharf many, many times for drinks, dinner, etc.--no more. If this is the attitude they have over a VERY small amount of money (trust me, this is NOT about the $$ amount of the tip, but about the fact that someone added it without me knowing and treated a long-time customer like this). There are other places to buy gas and get food/drinks on the chain--we are done with the Wharf. Anybody want a gift card for $7.56 (yep--that is the total amount--could have kept a customer...)

Went here cause we had a gift card. Seated ourselves (sign said to) and then proceeded to wait 40 min before giving up and finding a server. Got wings and cheese curds as an appetizer, wings were burnt and then reheated in a microwave and cheese curds were raw. Ordered the steak sandwich for food and steak was cooked perfectly but tasted like a white person during the great depression seasoned it. Tasted like water somehow. And reading reviews we figured management wasn't going to do anything anyway so why complain there. After drinking enough alcohol to add some taste went to bathroom and proceeded to find black mold on the walls (someone tried painting over the mold) and plant life growing in the ceiling in the bathroom. Needless to say we left promptly after that. To add we waited in total almost 3 hrs to get our food to our table.

We went in on Sunday morning for drinks and food and won't ever do so again. We sat inside and waited 15 minutes for our first round of drinks in a mostly empty bar. The yard was only half occupied and there seemed to be an abundance of staff. Since we ended up sitting next to the service station we quickly discovered why service was slow and inattentive The staff was busy worrying about songs on the jukebox and talking about their weekend parties. Food service took over 40 minutes and we had to ask several different waitresses several times for extra drinks since our sever was difficult to locate for the entire hour and a half we were there. When the food arrived, two of us had a giant salsa and sour cream burrito spilled in our laps and down our legs. They rushed out a replacement burrito which was the only thing they got done in a reasonable amount of time. The food was marginal and very over priced. When the bill came, they made no attempt to comp the meals of the spilled on guests. Spills are accidental and happen occasionally but when they do, it's standard to comp the meals of those affected, especially when red salsa will never come out of the white clothes it was spilled on. We've been to the wharf dozens of times over the years and are officially black listing them now. Poor service, overpriced marginal food and owner/managers who just don't care have ruined what used to be good spot on the lake. Moonlite and Zorbaz are much better choices on the chain for better food, service and reasonably...

Customer service def wasn't a priority from management's stand point. We came there for a nice dinner on our last night of vacation and def won't be returning for our next trip to Cross Lake. We have a bunch of kids who love cheese burgers, and were surprised to receive hamburgers when they ordered the kids cheeseburger on the menu. When asked about the cheese for the burgers, we were told that actually they're hamburgers now and it's an extra charge for the cheese even tho it clearly says burgers with cheese on the menu. I ordered a sirloin medium. It came just about well done and tough as could be. I told the server how it was over cooked and very tough, and told her I wouldn't eat. Still was charged full price and when I asked about it she said that it's pretty busy tonight and the manager normally doesn't do anything about it. Wow. Such a disappointing dinner. I felt bad for the server, wasn't her fault. It seems pretty obvious that they're just so busy all the time no matter what, that management just cares about the bottom line and doesn't appreciate their customers. Not a place I want to frequent, I'll spend my...
