Ike's Ice Cream Shack — Restaurant in Crystal Township

Ice cream is better than Dairy queen. I love this place. I got at least twice a week during summer but usually more.

My only complaint is that I ask every time I go there that they make sure that the Oreos make it to the bottom half of the flurry. I get the same ice cream every time. A large Oreo flurry w extra Oreo. And the bottom half of it will be only vanilla soft serve. Every time I ask them they say yes they will. But it's only actually happened twice. When the owner was there he did make sure the oreos went all the way through out it. Once his wife, I believe that was his wife anyway, told me no they couldn't do that. It was the machine that mixed them and that made that happen. So I'd assume that the one who was able to make that happen was the only one who knew the trick. I stopped asking them that after she said that and just ordered them anyway. They're still great, just less oreo kind...

I don’t usually write negative reviews but I have been coming to Crystal for several summers and have seen this ice cream shop go through multiple owners. Since the most recent change in ownership, the experience has not been the same. There has been several instances where mine or someone else’s order has been prepared incorrectly. I understand this happens sometimes as the employees are human, but it has happened much too frequently. Since Ike’s is the only place to get ice cream in Crystal, I keep coming back hoping that things will change. Unfortunately, they have not. Also, the sizing does not make sense. Depending on who is working, the ice cream portions differ. I would love to continue to be a regular customer, but I have been disappointed...

I love the location of Ike's and that Crystal has an ice cream shop. We have been residence of Crystal for 24 years. Up until this year Ike's has been a favorite place for us and grandkids. We have tried lunch and I ice cream treats several times this year. Hamburgers were not done on inside and over done on outside and the bun was stale. My Hawaiian Flurry did not have pineapple in it and my grandson's Oreo Flurry had some of my coconut in it and the Oreos were caked on the bottom of the cup. Yuck! I'm not sure if the Flurry machine was not working or if the workers do not know how to run it. Ice cream cones are fine. Probably...
