Always friendly treat me like family food is pretty good.. Update 4 years later. Kyle the old manager is no longer there. The one holding the margaritas. For my understanding it has changed hands and they changed the menu to a more Americanized version. And then it changed Is owners yet again. I was talking to the manager And they are trying to get the menu back to where it was. I had the fajitas and a chimichanga. Both were good. My only complaint does they need to turn the lights down. As one guy said it looks like a high school cafeteria in there. I'm gonna give it 3 stars for now until I have a chance to go back in the future.

Bad first. Hands down the worst salsa I’ve ever had at any Mexican restaurant ever. It was literally pico and what I assume was extremely watered down cholula sauce. I also felt rushed to eat normally people wouldn’t complain about ordering and 5 minutes getting their food but I wasn’t in a hurry. Portions however was awesome couldn’t even finish my chicken burrito. Burrito wasn’t bad considering how fast I got it. Spanish rice tasted instant and cheap. Prices are fair I had a beer and the burrito which came with refried beans and Spanish rice for 13.50$. Neat place improve on the salsa and add a full bar business might improve.

DEAD at 6pm on a Friday. Food was nothing special, server was on her phone 10 feet away and didn't ask if I needed anything a single time. "Salsa" was overpureed red sauce not salsa. No chips and salsa, as is done in every other Mexican restaurant out there. This place was good a couple of managers ago. Second time trying in the past year and it's going to be a hard pass going forward. I can't figure out how this hole is still in business, everyone there seems like they couldn't care less.

I absolutely love authentic Mexican food but living in the United States and Wisconsin, that is a very difficult thing to find. Sure we have Cancun's and it's good but the quality and food has become more to fit American customs and what Americans like to eat. Which really takes the traditional authentic Mexican taste to low standards and quality unfortunately .We finally got a authentic Mexican restaurant in the small town I live in and it was so much better and closer to the real thing but it wasn't until tonight that I finally got a chance to check out El Norteño Mexican Grill in Curtis WI, I'm telling you this is the place to go for Real authentic Mexican food and amazing taste and quality and the waitress and employees are very polite and nice. The menu is smaller but it's actually a really good thing because it allows them to focus on the quality and taste verses the speed and amount. The prices aren't that bad either. If the food and service is outstanding, the prices are more reasonable in my opinion. Meaning, if its really good food and service then it's worth the price . Rather than pay a lot of money for garbage food and service.I've noticed most Mexican restaurants that I've been to., give you giant portions or rice and beans and sometimes it's blan and flavorless, but not here. This restaurants quality and flavor is beyond high expectations. And they give good reasonable portions that isn't half of the plate but more like we should be consuming. Instead of Over heaping the plate to where you forgot you ordered an entree. More is not always better. We couldn't believe how delicious and outstanding the food was. El Norteños Mexican grill in Curtis WI is my all time most favorite Mexican restaurant now . I absolutely Love it and they also have a small store built into the restaurant. My wife and I have now made plans to go here at least once a month to eat and buy Mexican foods like desserts and supplies that you really struggle to find around these areas. Thank you El Norteños for an amazing experience! I definitely recommend this restaurant! Oh and I hate guacamole and my wife doesn't care for it either, but here. She actually enjoyed it and I tried it and was like " I hate guacamole but this guacamole is actually exceptional. Dude that's saying a lot...

We stopped over after a fuel up and were incredibly surprised by this restaurant!

It's very unassuming, you enter in through what looks to be a little market and in the back lies the restaurant. It's clean, the servers are friendly and the bar appears to have a nice variety of beers and alcohols.

We sat at a table and ordered off the menu. We eat a specific diet of low carb, moderate fat and high protein so instead of chips, we ordered grilled chicken to eat with our complimentary salsa. Delicious! We then ordered a steak burrito with no tortilla or rice, substitute the standard refried beans for black beans, piled high on a plate since there's no tortilla. Outstanding! We also ordered a mixed platter of steak and chicken fajitas, no rice, sub black beans. Phenomenal! It came out on a sizzling hot skillet and seasoned to perfection. I find most Mexican restaurants to be too salty but this place nails it when it comes to the perfect blend of spices and aromas.

We run this route often and I can guarantee we'll be back! Thanks to the kitchen and amazing service for being so accommodating and happy to swap ingredients to help us be successful over the road!...

We stop in about two weeks ago. The food was very good. Expect the portion size of the fajitas. Should not have to go looking for the meat. Especially at $14.00 a plate. It was a three meat fajitas plate and very very little meat, but plenty of vegetables and cheese. The side plate that comes with the fajits had very little rice, beans, lettuce and no jalapenos.. Like a heaping tablespoon of each. No sour cream or guacamole. The first time every for me ordering a fajita plate in over thirty years no meat and very little sides. With that said, the food we did get was a 10 out of ten excellent tasting. The reason for 3 stars was service, or should I say lack of service. Had to ask 2 times for drink refills and still did not get one. Asked a different waitress for more chips half our basket was crushed and she said that would be and extra $1.50. I said no thanks. Our waitress never came back to check on us. Just brought the bill and ask how its was. I told her and the cashier when I check out I was very disappointed. The waitress said ok. The cashier said oh that's good. Obviously they were not listening. Will give then one more try, Because the food...
