State Game Lodge Restaurant Custer State Park — Restaurant in Custer

State Game Lodge Restaurant was the best place we ate in the State Park. The food was really good. The bison filet was cooked perfectly, the starter salads were amazing, if you are looking for a place to eat in the park this is the place. My family and I ate at Sylvan lake lodge as well, this place is head and shoulders above Sylvan, and for the same price.

My husband and I have made many trips to South Dakota to enjoy fishing at Sylvan Lake. But we especially treasure our time at Custer State Park and the State Game Lodge; but this year we had my sister and her husband with us from Iowa for a week long stay for fishing and attending the Buffalo Round Up. We took them to the Restaurant for Dinner as they were celebrating their 56th Wedding Anniversary and the complimentary bottle of wine the Bar Tender gave my sister was an incredibly nice gesture. My husband and I came here twice for dinner while staying in Custer State Park for our honey moon. I’m a vegetarian and the food was great! The first night, I had the poke bowl, and I was happily surprised to see a tofu dish! It was very good and filling. The second night I had the black bean burger. It wasn’t bad, but I liked the poke bowl better. I would like another vegetarian option, but I was happy with what I had. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wine was good.
