I usually have their Menudo after Mass Sunday mornings in the winter. I love Menudo and even make it occasionally. My biggest complaint is normally that it is way too greasy. Most of the flavour is of course in the fat, but too much makes many of us have horrible indigestion and ruins the experience. Leija makes perhaps the best most balanced Menudo I have ever bought or made. The menu, to me, is a bit restricted, but all of it is very fresh and well seasoned. I haven't been there this summer, but now that the wx has cooled off I intend to get back to at least my Sunday routine. I am hoping that their menu has expanded. I also must confess that I am a died in the wool Tex-Mex addict, but love basically anything Mexican to eat in any shape, form, or fashion. Their salsa is also excellent as well and is usually a serious barometer as to just how good a Mexican restaurant will be. For some reason, most of the Mexican restaurants over the last few years have gone to cooked/heated salsa from warm to very hot. I absolutely hate that form, but love a fresh simple tomato/Serrano based salsa. Eating at Leija is like sitting in your neighbor's breakfast room for...

I m so happy I found this gem!! I've had fajitas at fajita Jack's and fajita Pete's and tried a couple other restaurants in Conroe and it only worth their fajitas bland overpriced and barely any food for the money I would definitely not recommend them to anybody. I live in San jacinto county so I was happy to find this little place and cut and shoot the best way he does I've had in all of Montgomery county best price family owned and operated place the meat is seasoned perfection their shrimp was excellent there fajita beef was excellent and not dry they're chicken was moist and delicious with flavor they give you large portion so when it says for two my family of four was able to eat that I love this place I'll be coming back here again they've got a customer for life if you're looking for a good spot I've tried every single Mexican restaurant all of Conroe cutting shoot except for about 20 trucks I haven't gone to but other than that I've been on the hunt for really good fajitas this is hands down the best that I've ever had Don't look any further go here best price in town also...

Don't ever bring a big family here!!!! Was recommended here by a friend brought in enough people to give them a full day of clientele but instead we were basically asked to leave because we were to much for them to handle evidently! We come in and weren't greeted instead they looked at us like crazy and WE move tables around and CLEANED AND WIPED there tables clean so we can for our family in. We still very nice and politely to try to make conversation with who seemed to be one of the owners we asked "did we take y'all by surprise" and he responded with "you can't be showing up like this" meaning we were suppose to call and make reservation... I'm sorry but your restaurant isn't at that level yet!!!! And with that service I doubt it will ever be. So after his response we asked "should we leave?" And he said well we have a lot of things to do but if u decide to stay it's going to be very long before you get service..... SMH so we are now taking our few hundred dollars to a restaurant with...

Came early for lunch, first one there. The tostadas were good, nice, crispy and hot. Chicken, beans could have been warmer. Caldo de Mariscos was steaming hot-as it should be; I added cilantro, serrano peppers and onion -asked for additional cilantro and onions. Stock was ok, plenty of surimi with no flavor, small oysters, other. Not enough flavor for my taste. Tortillas were ok, salsa mild. Agua de jamaica was good, not too sweet as is often the case.

Delicious Mexican food and an amazing little family operated restaurant on 105. It's basically an old house converted into a restaurant. The father started the business and his two sons work their also. The food is amazing! The portions are large and the prices unbelievable. Two can eat dinner well for $25.

Tostadas were crispy and hot, chicken ok. Caldo de mariscos was bland; I added double cilantro and onion, single serrano. Surimi was abundant but added no flavor; shellfish were there, very little flavor. Fajitas served to another table in hot platter smelled good.
